Any 18 year old* who thinks he can walk into a top European league and start dominating right away is kidding himself. Jeremy Tyler is one of these guys, apparently

I don't mind the idea of skipping college to play in Europe, but if guys think they can go over there, slap up 20-10's and go #1 in the draft as a result, they are delusional. Dudes should go over there hoping to develop and watch and learn from professionals at work.

The FIBA game is very physical and you need to have a mature mind and body to compete at a high level

* Unless it's someone like LeBron, who comes along once in 20 years

Comment from youtube

His coach calls him lazy and out of shape. The team captain says he is soft. His teammates say he needs to learn to shut up and show up on time. He has no friends on the team. In extensive interviews with Tyler, his teammates, coaches, his father and advisers, the consensus is that he is so na´ve and immature that he has no idea how na´ve and immature he is. So enamored with his vast potential, Tyler has not developed the work ethic necessary to tap it.-

His Coach Overseas

The team he played for in israel really wanted to get paid off him. But he was not cooperating, he was an experiment like jennings, the only thing is he left high school to play pro in europe(the 1st player to do so), his family didnt travel with him to help him take care of himself. So you have a 17 yr old in a foreign country with no supervision, making the adjustment was bound to catch up to him. but atleast he's getting drafted. I think with a good supporting cast he could mold into a good player and his attitude would be right.

Jajuan Johnson or Jeremy Tyler for Miami Heat's 31st draft pick. Johnson was also measured at 6'10.5" with shoes. Tyler is still a very young kid with a solid potential.

they already have 2 big man projects and i was a big fan of this dude http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player...playerId=32037 Freakin basically had a 2 to 1 block ratio in his last 2 years. Played in Italy this year http://www.eurobasket.com/player.asp...layerID=115505. Maybe they could go for Selby or Norris Cole instead of Andrew Gouedlock.

Well his coach in that video seems pretty convinced his attitude is turned around. The scouting report reads, NBA size, elite athleticism, skilled face up game. What's not to like?

Fran Fraschilla even said best case scenario for Tyler is a role player for 10 years, anyways i think some team will take him in the first round since bigs are more valuable than guards

Fraschilla's also a hardline college basketball guy and probably doesn't appreciate Tyler skipping that whole process. So, I'd take what he says with a grain of salt.

If i'm correct, Varnado didn't even play in the italian national league.

New Chad Ford mock today. Has Tyler going 29 to SA. Says something like he's getting a lot of buzz lately and is probably gone before then.

Tyler did turn a lot of heads at the combine. My buddy is the gym teacher at SDHS where Tyler left, and at the time said the kid was an egomaniac. I actually got a chance to see him play live a couple times while I was out visiting, and wasn't all that impressed. Too jumper heavy. But I'd admit his body seems to have changed a good deal in the past year in asia. And he did play under former NBA coach Brian Hill over there, and that may have really helped his approach. He measured great both physically and athletically, and frankly, in this draft, I'd be surprised if he lasted to the end of the first round.
