He is certainly a great defensive coach (5 years with Lebron has to count for something) but I don't know if he can command that respect from the Lakers, especially Kobe, and particularly after last year's disastrous playoff run
What's up with the negative reaction? He transformed the Cavaliers from one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA to one of the best in a single season...
And helped James' biggest liability (defense) turn into one of his greatest strengths.
He also coached teams with back-to-back 60+ win seasons on relatively limited talent.
Will Kobe respect him, that is the question...from what I remember Brown and baby Bron Bron clashed quite often which led to him being fired. Will any of the vets on the Lakers respect him? Is rebuilding on the horizon?

I don't quite understand the backlash, here.
I think it's his lack of offensive scheme that gives him the bad rep around here. Although that lack of offensive scheme could've been a direct result of LBJ..

Im not sure either dude. But then again, when it comes to the collective logic around here, people are convinced that ALL of Cleveland's success was literally JUST Lebron James, and only Lebron James.
They forget that Mike Brown had this team rolling for some amount of time. He just happened to slam up against the fine-tuned machine that was the Boston Celtics at the time.

Other than he only drew ISOs for Lebron in Cleveland hes a decent coach. But Dayum, wut we gonna do with him drawing offensive plays with an aging kobe doing ISOs?
Hes too soft of a personality to go with kobe too, well, at least he aint gonna get bumped, i guess we will just see, lakers front office has pulled miracles before, wouldn't surprise me that much they see what no1 else sees tbh...

So, he was unable to get James to not play LeBron ball? That is the biggest objection to this signing?
