The difference is that Kobe was already better than Shaq at that point. Thats what made it understandable to make the move they did.

Bynum is not anywhere near passing Kobe as the best player on the Lakers, hes not even the 2nd best player on the team.

Shaq was still better than Kobe up until 2005 when Shaq started to age a lot.

Bynum performed better these playoffs than Kobe did. Shaq easily outperformed Kobe in the 2004 playoffs prior to being traded. Remember it was Kobe who had a historically bad finals in 2004 with a giant chuck fest (like 35% shooting) that cost them the NBA finals. Shaq did well against prime Ben Wallace and Rasheed.

No he wasnt. Shaq has gotten badly out of shape by then and it showed with his conditioning on the court.

I don't think JR is mature enough to sign for less money than he currently earns.

Yeah i was thinking the same thing, and i love watching Laker drama. Check this article out fanning the flames already:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slu...lakers 052511

the great thing is if they aren't winning next year the drama is going to be ridiculous.

He won't based more on playing time than anything else i bet, and i don't blame him. No way he should be a 15-20 min player.

Very intrigueing to see what LA does... Kobe is a lot more stubborn than Pierce but he really should play how Paul plays for us. ISO when you have a great matchup, move without the ball for easy baskets, play D and rebound.

Bynum should be let go while his stock is high...If you can get Dwight Howard that would be perfect even if you gotta include Ron artest who has a decent contract.

Kobe "Just like in the past. This is exactly what we need. A brand new coach. A brand new philosophy. And now it's time to get rid of that aging star to let the young star shine........"

Fisher "Kobe....you don't understand.....you see, this time around....YOU are the aging star....."

Kobe staring straight ahead into space..........

Lakers will get Dwight, a top 3 player in the league and the league's best big man, and they'll be fine. Kobe gets to ride yet another great big man's coattails to titles while unjustly getting the lion's share of the credit.

Yeah dude, you've said this already in another thread. Just an FYI - no matter how many times you repeat this lie, it doesn't make it true.
