Default Shaq's Top 5 centers list

A larger-then-life personality, O'Neal retires with career averages of 23.7 points, 10.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.3 blocks per game on 58.2 percent shooting, but his numbers jumped to 27 points, 11.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.5 blocks in 514 regular season games played in LA.

One of the game's greatest centers considers Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to be the best to play the position. And, excluding himself from the conversation, he considers Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Hakeem Olajuwon and David Robinson to be the top five centers of all time.

"Just to have my name mentioned next to those guys is a blessing," O'Neal said.

Kareem = Roy Hibbert in this era

Bill Russell = Joel Anthony

Wilt = Javlee McGee

Hakeem = Hakeem (has the skills to play in this era)

David Robinson = David Robinson ( ^)

He was being a little too humble mentioning David Robinson. D-Rob doesn't hold a candle to Shaq.

the Spurs were the last team that young shaq got a victory against...

before hakeem took his heart, the admiral was on is way to arguably being the best all around center in history

IMO. Only behind Kareem as the greatest center ever.

u know Kareem actually dominated Hakeem many times when they were playing each other.

i understand about Russell and Wilt but Kareem would kill David Robinson straight up.

i like that shaq has a good memory

people putting O'neal in top 3 of greatest center of all time just don't know basketball.
and as someone said, Moses is straight up.

Actually, DRob kicked his ass, pre-injury. And you really can't bring up primes, because DRob was only in the league an extra couple seasons really.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/...1&p2=onealsh01

After DRob's injury which diminished him though, Shaq dominated the matchup.

So don't act like DRob magically didn't match up well with Shaq or some shit. He put up better numbers too. Shaq's career was obviously better overall though, due to his 3peat success with LA. Aside from the Hakeem/DRob series, he doesn't have many blemishes on his career record. You clearly didn't watch the guy play at all since you're downplaying him that badly.
