Re: 2011 NBA Finals Game 2 thread: Dallas Mavericks at Miami Heat
almost still speechless. i was ready to call it a game after that wade corner 3 to go up 15. i mean, the game was just weird even up to that point. it felt like miami was up double digits the whole game. dallas felt a little flat and lacked urgency. then boom...miami starts to get stagnant on offense and dallas is scoring on almost every possession. miami was up 15 with 6:30 left...that's just crazy considering how they've closed out all these playoffs. i thought dallas was done. incredible - this is why i'm an NBA fan. unless you're a legit long-time miami fan, you gotta love that game. if you don't, you just don't like basketball.
there's no doubt miami let this one slip. they outplayed dallas for the majority of the game. dallas turning the ball over was killing them. credit to miami's defense but a lot of it was unforced TO's. a couple uncharacteristic TO's from kidd, dribbling off your foot, butterfingers as a whole, etc. i read that miami set a franchise record in the playoffs on fast break points off TO's. i think it was around 35.
i have no idea why miami had bosh on dirk but they won't be making that mistake again. they might have been shell shocked over the whole situation.
again, just stunning but i'm glad dallas won because we have a legit series now. i was cheering, not in the way that dallas is my team, but cheering nonetheless. i haven't made it a secret that i'm not a miami fan. dallas should feel good about this - far from out of the woods but i think peja is due to at least hit a couple 3's here and barea should sink a couple more shots. i think that's one winnable game right there. barea was a factor tonight as well. BUY if peja continues to stink up the joint, why not try out corey brewer? peja has been awful, letting anybody he guards blow by him. he basically hurts the team if he's not hitting shots. i also doubt bibby will nail four 3's again. you have to watch chalmers though. if dallas swings the ball well, they have a good chance in this series. miami has great closeout D, but if dallas moves the ball crisply, they can get off nice shots.
granted, i still think miami is the favorite as it feels they have to beat themselves in order for dallas to finish them.
