People underestimate how well the whole dallas team played hence overhyping dirk a bit much but lets say he is having a deserved temporal overrating. On the Heat side, I think Wade got VASTLY overrated because of those stretches in the Finals.

i myself would say he could be anywhere from high to mid 20s.

A little bit. People are pretty much hyped up with Dirk's run.

Still a great player, but I'm not sure if he is greater than Barkley, Malone and stuff. I wonder if people were to rank him above Patrick Ewing and David Robinson?

It'll be interesting to see what happens though. Dirk career isn't over yet.

Dirk is being overrated due to an unorthodox team structure..

For instance, if you replaced prime Dirk with Rasheed Wallace on any of the pistons teams in the mid 2000s who would be Dirk's second option? Big Ben? Chauncey? Any guy you pick is going to be a 'subpar' second option and Dirk would get all the credit for being the offensive leader and 'man' on the team.. And it's obvious those teams with Dirk on them would be winning titles despite the lack of a 'legit' second option.

Yea but you have posters on this site that look back at the history of the game and see that:

Jordan had Pippen
Shaq had Kobe
Kobe had Gasol
KG had Paul Pierce[or vice versa]
Magic had Kareem
Bird had McHale
etc.

Point is all of these 'second options' are better than any single player on those Pistons teams.. and when someone on ISH sees a second option not on par with any of those guys, they think that somehow the supporting cast the main guy has isn't good enough to win a title, but if their team is good enough, that second option bullshit wont matter.
