No one will mention Dirk going 9-27 like Kobe going 6-24
Still to this day we hear Kobe going 6-24 despite him getting 15 rebounds. What's the difference between Dirk going 9-27 and getting 11 rebounds? Not hating on Dirk, I'm just pointing out the hatred people have for Kobe.
Will we see people type 9-27 after any positive Dirk post?
Re: No one will mention Dirk going 9-27 like Kobe going 6-24
Said this in the other thread. Kobe was getting compared to MJ and guy's like Magic etc. He was being considered a top 10 player. You expect better from Kobe. Dirk while also an "all time great" didn't draw the attention nor the comparisons like Kobe did. Heck everybody had the Lakers beating Dallas THIS year. Portland beating them. Miami etc. Just like LeBron getting killed for his play, it's because of the hype. Dirk never had it. He pretty much stole his spot this year. Kobe's simply held to a higher standard because he's considered on another level than Dirk.
So if you want Dirk's game to be talked about like Kobe's game than it's either A. Dirk's in that tier with Kobe or B. Kobe was falsely compared to higher levels.
Or you can just say both players came through for there teams when they needed them and won an NBA championship and a finals MVP. That probably doesn't fly on ISH tho

Because of their performances throughout the whole playoffs, dirk was far more impressive. This is one of the very few times the team has been able to carry dirk on an off night, but even then he still clutched them home making big shots.
Re: No one will mention Dirk going 9-27 like Kobe going 6-24
Because it was the tale of two halves. In the second half, when the game was on the line and he was about to become a champion, Dirk shot 50% and scored 10 points...yet again...in the fourth quarter to seal the deal. He admitted to needed his team to carry him, and then he did what he had to in the second half.

And what is funny is Dirk himself is making a bigger deal, and mentioning it more then anyone else. Media will ignore it though even with him telling them himself.

Another Kobe'tard
Kobe Shot 6-24 despite having Top 3 big man in NBA on his side.
Kobe Shot 6-24 despite having NBA DPOY Artest on his side.
Kobe Shot 6-24 against old, injury ridden Celtics who were clear underdogs
Kobe Shot 6-24 in the most important game of NBA Finals, Game 7.
Kobe shot 6-24 despite being only 32 yrs old compared to Boston's Big 3 Garnet 37, allen 36, Pierce 33-34.
Dirk Shot 9-27 being a lone superstar & allstar on his team.
Dirk Shot 9-27 being 34 yrs old against very young athletic miami heat Wade 29, Lebron 26, bosh 26.
Dirk shot 9-27 but was CLUTCH in all 4th quarters of most of the finals games unlike Kobe.
9/27 = 33%FG in Game 6 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>6/24=25%FG in Must win Game 7.

Kobe was just as impressive last year IMO. Go look back at that Suns series and even the Jazz series...
That said, 1-12 of Dirk's numbers come from the first half. He did better in the 2nd half. And MUCH better in the 4th quarter. Including the dagger layup that basically sealed the deal.
Dirk struggled badly in the 1st half, and came back and produced respectable numbers in the 2nd half. Plus making the shots when it mattered most, cutting off any attempt by the Heat to get back in it.
