Those team above are all very low-tier. We won't see any of those in higher competitions.

Philippines, at least they are trying to be good at basketball.

Is that the Asia qualifying group?

If it is I'm guessing Japan, S-korea and Australia are qualifying then? Also why is Australia in the Asia qualifying group?

Yep, it is. And yes, those three teams will always qualify for AFC. And one or two wildcards.

And for Australia in AFC instead of OFC, it's just a political bullshit. Being in OFC is much more difficult to qualify of the big dance since they have to play another intercontinental qualifier to go through. Getting automatically qualified in AFC is much easier.

Personally, I applaud the decision. I'd much rather see Australia in the WC than any asian team not named Japan or S. Korea.

LOL uzbekistan. If FIFA wants to make Asia more competitive they should look to put Israel, Georgia, Armenia and the other countries that are half way there.(Besides Turkey) I also find it hilarious how Kazakhstan are part of Europe. It's nice!


It would be better to have a team like Israel qualify than N-Korea.

I think it says a lot that the European WCQs don't start till next September tells you enough...
