Actually its more like BB will be out of the league shortly. If the Knicks fire D'Antoni next season, then BB will probably get some minor playing time, nothing major, he shouldn't anyways. But he sure as hell will not be getting any playing time with D'Antoni.

Draft Plans(Dream Case)
Trade 17th pick and whatever else necessary and get as high a pick as possible. In order, pick one of: Klay Thompson, Biyombo, Burks, Brooks,Jimmer, and Faried. Then buy two picks, one late first, one early second. With first take Shelvin Mack, Josh Selby, or Reggie Jackson. With second, take Jenkins, Nolan Smith, Benson, or Tyler.

We dont have the cap space to acquire Rip as a salary dump.
We'd have to move Chauncey in order to do so and that would not be a good deal at all. We lose our best trading chip, and the ability to get another key player in 2012.

You dont pass on a defensive guy like Biyombo on a team that lacks any shotblockers or rebounders. He fills a need at C that we lack right now, but at the same time he has some longterm potential too.
There is no Center on the roster right now. Biyombo will be splitting time with Turiaf, but eventually will have to play big minutes when Turiaf goes down with another injury. If we're taking him in the Top 10 or even at #17, Biyombo is going to be baptized by fire. At the same time all of his interviews suggest he wants the pressure.
This isnt some humble project like Thabeet or Sene who isnt sure what they can do. This dude Biyombo is Straight outta Congo and says hes going to lead the league in Blocks and Rebounds.
Re: Knicks plan to move up involves Biyombo, not Jimmer.
People realize that Biyombo's lack of offense is unimportant with great scorers like Melo and Amare on the team. He will have time to develop into a double digit scorer.

Mozgov the undrafted rookie got a lot of playing time. Landry Fields got a lot of playing time.
Rookies didn't play when D'Antoni first got there because they had more depth than they do now (even though the guys in front of them were a bad example of depth).
