All Euro-bigs are compared to one of two players---if they are supposed to be good, they are compared to Dirk, if bad, they are compared to Barganani.

All euro-guards (they make euro-guards?) are compared to Manu.

Good thing there was no talk about Tony Parker before the draft. Euro who can't shoot, isn't big, and not-white. Heads would have exploded.

As a Pistons fan, I am deathly afraid of our draft choice. It seems all our possible selections could be potential Darkos. I just want a sure thing, is that too much to ask (yes).

He's going to be a bust

So many of players like him gets hyped up because of their athletic and defensive ability, but fail to meet expectations when drafted. Ibaka is the only real exception in a long time.

Biyombo is like Sean Williams with even worse offense.

I hear ya. I think we all know that we're definitely more than just a piece or two away now. So getting someone who can help right away is really crucial to the rebuilding of this team. If we miss on a lottery pick it pretty much means it'll take an extra year of building, since FA's aren't knocking down the doors trying to go to Detroit.

So now Bargnani is a bad player? He may not be #1 worthy, but he's still a pretty good player. He averaged 21.4 PPG last season. That's pretty damn good.

That # alone means nothing. Not saying he is bad (he certainly isn't good though) but a player can score 20 ppg and still suck. Context matters.

I hate ppl just go by comparisons to gauge draft prospect.

Literally no 2 players are the same. Comparisons are good to understand a players skill-set, but not to see how good a pro they will become.

Yi looked impressive against the chair in one of his workouts. Can;t believe these stupid workouts still determine how high or low a player gets drafted. He was playing in a competitive league for a whole season. How about judge him from there?

actually, he was dismissed from the team for attending the hoop summit against their wishes. So, he didnt play that many games this year (barley more than a dozen IIRC). But he did average a lot of blocks and decent rebounding in the 15 mins he played a game.

Anyone think that scouts and coaches may have felt that this statement by Biyombo answered any questions they had about his intellect?:

http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=227545

I mean, scouts love confidence, but generally they love the witty, charming, funny type of confidence or cockiness, the entertaining type. Biyombo just seems like a stupid liar unaware of his total lack of charm, grace, wit, or much less believability.

If dude keeps saying sh!t like this, Barkley and friends will be real quick to stick him with the same nickname as Vernell Coles.
