Kentucky coach John Calipari signs 2-year extension
CBS Sports reports:
Kentucky will announce on Monday that John Calipari's contract has increased in value over the terms of his initial deal and been extended by two years, a source confirmed to CBSSports.com on Sunday.
Calipari's intial contract with UK was for eight years and nearly $32 million.
Sporting News reports:
Sources close to the Kentucky program told Sporting News late Sunday that Calipari agreed to an extension that will alter his bonus structure and represent a slight increase over the $31.65 million he was scheduled to earn over his initial eight-year deal.
Calipari, who earned approximately $3.8 million his first two seasons, did not desire an immediate salary increase. But a retention bonus scheduled to be paid if he remains at UK will come in 2012 rather than 2013, which was stipulated in his original deal.
