he's a great guy, so reporters don't bring it up...but it's true...
Shane came into the league and found his role..and has consistently delivered in that capacity since he's been in the league
better than any other Duke player has at filling their role on their teams...consistently
Hill is a career 17.5/6.5 reb/4 assist guy playing 34 minutes per gm.
Battier is a career 9.6/4.7 reb/2 assist guy playing 33 minutes per gm.
Role player? Hill's been the designated defender on a team that gives him virtually no help while in his late 30's. It's pretty freaking remarkable given his history.
You really want to focus on Hill's playoff record?
Battier's teams lost all 5 first round series, being swept in 3 of them, before winning one in his 6th attempt.
Hill had been in 6 series (one that he couldn't complete due to injury), being swept in 3 of them, prior to advancing on his 7th attempt. Huge difference, huh?
I love Battier's game. A big fan. He has nothing to apologize for in his career. Neither does Hill, and despite injuries that almost ended his career, he'll end up playing more games at a higher level.
