Default Shabazz Muhammad player profile

CBS Sports reports:

Shabazz Muhammad, Height: 6'6", Weight: (???) lbs., High School: Bishop Gorman (Nev.), AAU team: Dream Vision, Position: Small forward, Comparison: James Harden

Why he's No. 1: Outstanding lefty scorer, great when driving to the rim. Unstoppable in the mid-range and with pull-up jumper. Very good athleticism.

Why he's not No. 1: Perimeter shooting is inconsistent, and is not as effective going to his right. Ball-handling also needs some work, as he aspires to be a shooting guard.

What kind of pro: Will have to improve dexterity and outside jumper, but he has a long NBA career ahead of him.

Recruiting: UCLA, Kentucky, Duke, UNLV, Memphis, Kansas, Arizona, Texas.

I didn't even notice 220 in the OP. I mean, he might be in the 200 neighborhood, but he's nowhere near 220. Maybe it was a typo meant to be 200?

From what I've seen and read on Muhammad he has a killer mid-range game but his three point shot is severely lacking at this point. Kobe and Harden are both good three point shooters but I'm not sure how good of three point shooters they were the summer entering their senior year.

The Sporting News reports on Shabazz Muhammad:

He is ranked No. 1 in the 2012 class by Scout.com, Rivals.com, so he didn’t need to play to burnish his reputation. But the toughness he demonstrated was all the proof anyone would need that the 15 colleges closely pursuing him—including Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, UNLV and the presumptive favorite, UCLA —were wise to be spending Saturday afternoon at Rancho High’s North gym.

Oh, but there was more. During the 16-minute second half of Dream Vision’s 75-65 victory over Double Pump Elite, Muhammad scored 26 of his 32 points. He scored in every way conceivable, including two ridiculous dunks that brought the large crowd of spectators—and a few of the coaches—out of their seats.

“This is my last AAU tournament, so I want to make it a good one,” Muhammad said. “I wanted to play today. I wanted to come in first place in our pool. We’re in the best pool, and we’re 3-0, so I’m really happy about that.”

Muhammad is a 6-6, 202-pound shooting guard who plays for Bishop Gorman High in Las Vegas.

I've heard UCLA is in on him just as hard.

Ben Howland might be out of a job by the time he arrives on campus, so he might just end up at UK.

Yeah, I read that many feel UCLA is the frontrunner. And I ideally, I would not want him at Kentucky but we need Archie BAD.

He'd be great for UCLA... that program needs a big time star to bring it back to prominence. I'm someone who loves the blue bloods being strong... UCLA and IU need to get back on the map
