This could be the last chance for the Lakers with Kobe. The Mavericks lose out on all the momentum of this years championship.

You think these owners are going to lose the season because Milwaukee, Minnesota, Indiana, etc are losing money?

i would think so. only an handful of owners like the way it is now. the majority could force the big market team to hold out longer. it's not like the 7 or 8 teams can end the holdout without the rest of the owners.

Which is ironic because none of those 30 guys or so are the type of players who would need that advice.

For the high profile guys, they make very good money from their endorsements along with their NBA salaries.

Do you see LeBron begging the NBAPA to get a deal done because hes "broke"? What about Kobe? Wade? Yao? Dirk? Melo? Dwight? Durant? CP3? Deron?

So how exactly is the NBAPA going to fold? A hard cap & non-guaranteed contracts are for more serious issues to the NBAPA than putting a cap on max contracts offered in 1999.

Well duh, of course they have other incomes besides basketball. A majority depend on an NBA paycheck as that is their only income.

You also need a consistant income in order to save, most of these players will have very high outgoings on estates, cars etc.

Players lose more in this lockout.

it's been reported that many players took out one year loans at ridiculous interest rates to get them through.

It doesn't take a genius to realize the players will cave in first...

I seriously doubt this has happened yet. Most players won't even start missing paychecks until October/November.

Would you rather pay opt out cash to owners of small market teams to contract them? This will set back the league maybe 20 years. Also you're basically drawing the lines saying to those fans, we don't need you - **** off.

Yep. At least 18 owners would love for the entire 2011-12 season to be shut down so I just don't see the players winning this battle.
