It seems like it. You Orlando fans are going to suffer through the same fate Cleveland fans went through when Lebron left town or when shaq left town 15 years ago. The ball isn't in your court at the moment. Other teams have the power to get the good end of the deal. Howard is a great player (best center in the league), but if you plan on waiting to get equal value in return for him, good luck. If Orlando somehow gets D.William or Chris Paul to team up with Howard, all the power to you. But what assets does your team hold to make these trades? The only real value Orlando has is Howard and to some extent, Nelson. All teams are going to low-ball you because they know they can. You can get mad at the offers but in the end, when Howard leaves, good luck handling a season record of 20-62.

Doesn't matter there would be a sign an trade where Orlando would get back what they can.

If dwight wants LA that's where he will go. He's a superstar he will choose where he wants to go. If he wants to go to thunder he will go there. They can offer the best package but its up to dwight wether he wants to go there.

I'm trying to make the best deal for both the Lakers and Magic. Good luck trying to bring in another caliber player to play alongside Howard.

you're an idiot, pure and simple.

if a team like minnesota offered love+williams+2 unprotected firsts, orlando would trade him there tomorrow.

orlando doesn't give a flying fvck what howard wants, it's all about what they can get. the only thing howard's preference might factor into is who would be willing to trade for him when he might not re-sign with them. but dwight howard has absolutely no authority on where he goes if traded. and if hes a free agent he will be restricted because half of the league can't afford him.

What part of dwight signing an extension don't you understand? That's the only way a trade will happen

Orlando Magic fans must warm up to the very real possibility of getting little in return for Dwight Howard.

Come on guys, be real. When the new CBA is up, there's going to be an amnesty rule. Arenas is as good as gone.

The Magic's next worse contract is Turkey-Glue. And Artest is going to opt out of the final two years of his contract if he's playing somewhere he doesn't want to play. The trade is fine.

Minnesota wouldn't offer all that if Dwight said "I'm only signing an extension if I'm traded to the Lakers." So, no, you're an idiot, plain and simple.

This is exactly what just happened with Carmelo Anthony. How soon you all forget...

Man the OP must be high as hell making this topic.
So we trade our 2 best players (Jameer arguably is 2nd best) and a bad contract for an injured bigmen an aging Odom and 2 scrubs? Man Laker fans need to get off the pipe.

To be fair, you're also apprehensive about losing Jameer Nelson. That sounds a little cracked out too.

How about this trade idea involving Golden State so that you can keep your beloved Jameer Nelson:

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMa...radeId=3e85kxv

Orlando gets: Bynum, Ellis, Artest (Loses Howard and unloads Arenas and Turkoglu's contract)

Golden State gets: Gasol, Turkoglu (Loses Ellis, Wright, and unloads Biedrin's contract)

Lakers get: Howard, Biedrins, Arenas, and D. Wright (Loses Bynum, Gasol, and unloads Artest's contract)

I thought this would be more of a fair trade for every team involved. Orlando gets rid of the two bad contracts in Arenas and Turkoglu and gets a legitimate scorer in Ellis and a productive center in Bynum while keeping Nelson. Lakers get Howard and a shooter in Wright, but also takes on Arenas's contract. Warriors lose Ellis and Wright, but get a top 5 PF/C in Gasol, and a decent all-around player in Turkoglu and unloads Biedrins's bad contract. This move also lets Curry run the team and have more shot opportunities with Ellis gone.

Orlando starters: PG: Nelson/Duhon
SG: Ellis/Richardson/Reddick
SF: Artest/Richardson
PF: Bass/Anderson
C: Bynum/Bass

Golden State: PG: Curry/Law
SG: Curry/Bell
SF: Turkoglu/Radmanovic
PF: Gasol/Udoh
C: Lee/Gasol/Amundson

Los Angeles Lakers: PG: Fisher/Arenas/Blake
SG: Bryant/Arenas
SF: Barnes/Wright
PF: Odom/Caracter
C: Howard/Biedrins

Fair?

Better
Still not sure though. Artest isn't going to contribute much at all. And no one can really predict if Bynum will ever become productive. I like Ellis though

How many balls do you propose this team plays with?
