I know it sucks for Nets fans, and I hate to see someone injured, but it's great news for draft pick. Deron's wrist has hampered him since January, and his shot has looked pretty bad. Could Devin Harris right now be equal to Deron in production? Obviously a healthy Deron is a ton better, but Devin and Deron could be equal in production, maybe the trade didn't hurt us all that bad this year.
It also gives Sundiata Gaines more playing time if Deron does get shut down.

Deron's still better. Devin can't shootwith a good wrist and Deron is still better in every other offensive aspect. Harris is a better defender.

It hurt that they settled for the 2nd offer and didn't get a lot more for such an asset especially considering how much they gave up to get him in the first place.

Of course they could have gotten more if they'd looked at more than two offers. They got yet another pf and an overpaid pg past his prime and possibly two lottery picks to go with all the lottery picks they'll be getting because they suck.
Re: Deron shut down the rest of the year with the Nets?
Favors has a lot more upset and potential than what Millsap probably has, I really like Paul, but he isn't going to get a whole lot better in the league, he's a lot like Lamar Odom to me, which isn't bad. Favors has a lot of upside/potential. He's a athletic player and can play C too. Harris is still in his prime and better then a good bit of starting PG's in the league, not necessarily a Top 5 PG but still a good one.
Just face it that Deron wasn't going to stay. No matter if you thought it was the front offices fault or not.

Sure but will he be as good?

Not as long as they continue to put him in the back seat to lesser players.

He's a center like Jefferson? LOL!

Age wise. He peaked a couple years ago though.

He's worse than a good bit too.

Rather he was staying or Favors has upside or Harris doesn't suck they didn't even attempt to get the best offer they could. That's ridiculous with an asset like Deron.
Re: Deron shut down the rest of the year with the Nets?
How is Harris? He does not seem motivated. Well he has not for a while. When he was motivated he was a top 10 PG IMHO. He seems to have fell off quite a bit. I remember when he use to take over the game in clutch minutes and draw fouls and charges like nothing and drive to the basket. Is he still like this? I still love that half-court buzzer beater game winner in 08, that was the last year I could say he was a top 10. If Harris wants to he can take over and help Utah to the playoffs along with AL but he seems like he does not care, I miss the old Harris.
Re: Deron shut down the rest of the year with the Nets?
Haven't really been impressed with Harris, he's way too reliant on getting too the hoop which he is good at, but misses way too many hard shots going at the basket, his passing isn't overly great, and hasn't really showed much of his outside shot so far.
Still a solid player, but you can tell that an injured Deron is still probably better/equal to him.
