Default Trade Idea LAL-UTAH

Al Jefferson + Devin Harris for Andrew Bynum+ Steve Blake

Why for the lakers:

Bynum is hurt too much, plus they desperately need a good point guard. big al is a 20 , 10 guy every season.

why for the jazz:

Al jefferson is a bad fit there, plus they can afford to have Bynum hurt, because they already have Kanter who can back him up and play solid minutes there.

lol....then our best guard would be CJ Miles.

I like Jefferson for Bynum but not Harris for Blake. There should be a third team involve so Utah can get a guard better than Blake.

Thats actually a very interesting trade proposition.
I don't see the Lakers doing it because they value Bynum VERY highly.

I think Utah is one of the only teams in the NBA that needs guards, not big men. They already have Jefferson/Milsap/Favors/Kanter/Okur(injured?). They should look to trade one or two of Milsap/Jefferson/Okur for a really good wing or maybe use them with Harris to get an elite PG.

Better trade is this:

Lakers get

Jason Maxiall

Pistons get

Steve Blake

The Pistons get Blake, who was a major disappointment last year, but can be an effective point guard for the Pistons, something they desperately need. The Pistons need to move one of their combo point guards who really can't run the point.

The Lakers get a reserve big off the bench. Maxiall isn't tall, but he has size and is a solid rebounder.

Contracts are similar.

You might want to make sure Kobe got that memo.

No way this would happen. If only because Utah wouldn't choose to make a preexisting western conference force to be reckoned even stronger, even if it meant snagging Bynum. Besides, a Jazz team built around Bynum with a rookie coach would be lucky to pull out the same amount of wins the Jazz did last season. Depending on how Kanter's game translates to the NBA, they may not even need to take a leap with this sort of trade.

Lakers don't do it on their end because they'll have a deluge of stellar PG's flocking to the City of Angels next summer. Why trade their most valuable commodity for a trade that, in my opinion, could be trounced by a variety of much more enticing offers? Don't rule out Darius Morris either. If he can crack the rotation I'm sure he can thrive in LA.

Utah's best bet would be to wait until summer 2012 to try and throw a max contract at a superstar, despite Utah's overall lack of appeal as a free agent destination. Then fill in the blanks with some choice acquisitions (G. Wallace, Hibbert, Nash?). Tank another season and maybe get lucky in the draft again.

so jefferson or pau has to defend centers?

i think the lakers value bynum, becasue they know that they have a long skilled front court that can dominate the paint like none other, it won them game 7 in 2010. giving up bynum for a bad defensive player in jefferson ruins that.

Bynum is going nowhere, unless it is for Dwight Howard or for Al Horford.

It would hinge on the match-up, I'm sure. Odom would likely slide into a starting role again, similar to what took place when Bynum was out. If Jefferson struggled in Utah who knows how he'd take to a newly implemented Lakers system that may still revolve primarily around Kobe on the offensive end. Similar to what Brown did with LeBron in Cleveland.

This. I'd take Bynum for Jefferson in a heart beat, despite the injuries, and even though Harris is mediocre, the team would be terrible without him.
