Default How Jordan screwed the Knicks because he was afraid of them

Quote:
After the Knicks extended the Bulls to seven games in the Eastern Conference semifinals last season, Chicago's Scottie Pippen told Jordan that he hadn't enjoyed getting belted around by the very physical X-Man, who would become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. Falk, to please Jordan, did everything he could to get McDaniel out of New York. That wouldn't please Ewing, but in the Falk peeking order, Jordan is No. 1. So Falk rejected the Knicks' offer, $8.1 million for three years, and landed McDaniel a four-year, $9.6 million deal with Boston.

Asked who was the best player he ever played with, Ewing said, "Second-best teammate? John Starks, Allan [Houston], Spree [Latrell Sprewell], Oak [Charles Oakley]. But they're not Carmelo. They're not Carmelo."

Those quote got me thinking, how many rings do the Knicks win if they had say...Dominique with Ewing in place of some of these guys?

Just read the article and I couldn't find this quote:

Quote:
Michael Jordan: "I'm afraid of the Knicks."

Can you point out where it is for me, I must have missed it. Thank you.

He said MJ was afraid of the Knicks, then linked to an article which offered no proof, evidence or quotes to show that Jordan was afraid of the Knicks. Which makes perfect sense amongst the mental midgets such as yourself who use this forum.

This is a weak era for insidehoops forum users.

Yet, that was the smartest thing to do for McDaniel. It's not like he rejected the Knicks 8.1 mill for 3 years and signed him to Boston for 6 million over 2 years.

An agent can't accept a contract for a player. The agents job is to get the best deal for the player, and communicate those offers to those players. Yes he can attempt to persuade him, but at the end of the day the player (in this case Xavier McDaniel) makes the decision.

First off McDaniel was a 29 year old player who was getting the last contract of his prime. With all the factors considered I would say that the Celtics offer was better.

NY offer - $8.1 mil total; $2.7 mil/year; would be 32 when contract expires
Boston offer - $9.6 mil total; 2.4 mil/year; would be 33 when contract expires

X was one of the most physically intimidating players I have ever seen play. He was all over Pippen in '92, one of the main reasons the series went 7 games. I think if X stays in New York, the Knicks beat the Bulls in '93.

Yea, pretty sure I missed that part. LOL @ this clown "eliteballer"

Article basically insinuates what we all knew, and that is Pippen was scared of a lot of players, especially of physical contact.

Jordan is so scared of X-man (who was a bully) that's why he did this ...

Jordan has to stand up for Pippen, per usual
