Default Re-create the Bad Boys era 80's Pistons with current players

Had a discussion earlier with a friend about how a defense oriented team with hard nosed/tough players with 1 superstar could win a NBA Championship in this day & age even with new defensive rules.

Obviously any modern version wouldnt be able to get away with the cheap shots, handchecking, & other intimidating practices that described 80's defense. But a group of guys who are all tough as hell and fit together on the court is good enough.

So how would you go about putting that team together?

I'd go with:

PG- Chris Paul - Zeke
SG- Wes Matthews - Dumars
SF- Caron Butler - Aguirre
PF- David Lee - Laimbeer
C - Kendrick Perkins - Mahorn

6th Man - Ben Gordon - Vinnie
PF- Anderson Varejao - Salley
PF- Josh Smith??? - Rodman

I may incurr the wrath of Boston fans for saying this, since they hated Lambieer more than just about anyone, but I'd have current-era KG in for Lambieer in the new Bad Bosy. Angry tall guy who hits guys smaller than him and shoots 18 footers? *Checks box* David Lee is too nice

I'd also have Noah in place of Rodman

Otherwise, good job. I like that team a lot (except Perkins, who is garbage, but will do a decent enough Mahorn impersonation, I guess)

my try:
PG:Chris Paul
SG:Tony Allen
SF:Metta WorldPeace(weird)
PFemarcus Cousins
C:Joakim Noah

reserves
Tyson Chandler
Josh Smith

put in cousins to add a Rodman personality to the team.

Dumars... hard to find a player like him today. George Hill isn't the scorer Dumars was, and Matthews is nowhere close as a defender. I don't know of any other undersized shooting guards who were great offensively and devastating defensively. Offense is easy - Monta, BG come to mind. But defensively, can't really think of anyone. Closest would be Billups if you played him as a SG.

Throw Von Wafer in just to have a certified nut case on the squad.
