Default NBA babying older teams?

Lakers 10 back to backs this upcoming season, Spurs 13, Mavs 12. Clippers 22.....It's not just this year either. It seems teams that are older, contending teams always get favorable schedules.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic but that's a HUGE difference. Last season we had I believe the 3rd or 4th most back to backs and the 3rd longest road trip in NBA history. I honestly feel younger, not as good teams do get screwed over on the schedule.

Do you honestly believe an abundance or lack of back-to-backs will dramatically affect where teams like the Clippers fall in seeding at the end of the season?

Of course. Mainly due to fatigue. I saw my team meltdown in the second half of the season and win like 2 of 11 on our brutal road trip. I think back to backs and lengthy road trips obviously affect young teams a lot more. If we are going to make the playoffs then we need to learn to fight through any adversity but that doesn't mean it's not annoying to be screwed over with this scheduling year after year. It's not just the Clippers either. It's other lesser teams.

What you need to compare is not how many back to backs a team has but that number vs how many times they catch a team on a back to back as well. So if a team has 22 b2b games and plays teams on a b2b 23 times that's not bad. Or if another team only has 10 b2b games but only gets to play opponents on b2b 9 times for example. The differnece is much more important.

I just meant because rarely do people calculate it. Calculate the difficulty of the Clippers schedule in 2012 vs the Lakers if it's so simple .

I think there's something to it because I remember the Bulls had the most back to backs last year, along with the Bucks and then the Knicks were also up there.

This is a very good point and it might even out the competitive fairness of the league, but it still sucks for fans who have to watch two teams coming off of back to backs compete.

in the end the lakers, spurs and mavs will play at least 4 more games than the clippers so it evens out.
