CryinInTheCar is starting to rub some people the wrong way
Default Marshon Brooks scores 48 pts in summer league game.

This kid totally dominated the game last night. He played in the Nike Pro-City Tournament last night. This kid has SUCH a dynamic offensive game, the person guarding him (Jamario Moon) literally couldn't stop him ONCE. He can create his own shot, shoot the 3, shoot the mid-range jumper, has an amazing pull up jumper, got to the hole at will on Moon, and can finish with the best of them. I mean, the kid is a great athlete, has great size for an NBA SG (6'6 200) and has a SEVEN FOOT ONE (7'1) wingspan. That's INCREDIBLE for a SG. With arms those long, he could turn into a defensive monster. So basically, watching him last night, now I know why people say he has some kobe in him. His game is similar, and he has that same type of on court swag as Kobe.. He never loses his cool. So basically what i'm saying is this... I think this kid has the MOST potential out of ALL the rookies this year, will end up in the top 3 for ROY voting (IF he doesn't win it), and will be a multiple all star. I have a feeling this kid was the steal of the draft on a Ginobili level.. What do you guys think?

thats why i think organizations are retarded taking their 'specialists'/needs early in the drafts, more than the most talented player at that pick. Knick fans were acting like it was good they took a 'specialist'/need, but i swear it rarely pays off like taking the top talent available does. by the time those specialists are good enough to play 30 min's and really help, they're already a FA playing for some other team, or just never pan out. where as having a top talented scorer/threat you can always trade for a specialist, if not just keep him because of the star talent even if its offensive and weak defensively, theres still more value in that all around.

organizations are time and again retarded to me tho everyone presumes they must know what they're doing but they screw up more than fan opinions, i wish someone kept count to throw it in their faces :p

u know he sux when the bulls pass on him. u know that Anthony Randolph dropped 50 points in vegas summer league against better competition, there is not really any defense played in summer leagues, heck in this game John Lucas III got like 30 points.

Finally a voice of reason. Every year someone crushes summer league and are anointed the next big thing. Then reality sets in and they're just some run of the mill player. Does anyone here remember when Brandon Jennings scored 50 pts in a real game? I think half of the 12 year olds on this board soiled their pants. What happened later? He became an erratic inconsistent pg just as anyone with half a brain had predicted.

jennings gets a lot of hype by some people tho. its not like he's a failure, or even the names most of you all are dropping. even Randolph isn't a failure yet, and he still has pretty ridiculous potential.

i'm not a fan of jennings myself, but he's not someone you can really point to as some failure

and considering how many teams passed on Brooks, and i forgeet who else it was, that were available at like the 20+ picks that everyone was surprised were still there, and how some 'lesser' players went before them i'd be shocked if they didn't make a lot of teams look stupid.

He said you know you suck when the bulls pass on you. That's not a voice of reason that's garbage from a poster who has zero clue about marshon Brooks as a player. I agree the summertime beasting means little. So that point sticks. But marshon Brooks is a baller

Entirely different situations.

Brandon Jennings dropped 55 in a NBA regular season game.

A guy like Donte Greene dropped 40 in a NBA summer league game 3 years ago.

In this situation with Marshon you're talking about a streetball summer league game where there isnt much defense being played. Corey Fisher(undrafted Villanova PG) dropped 105 points last year in one of these summer league games. Marshon is a good player who we'll make a huge impact on the Nets if he improves his defense, but dont get too gassed over that performance.

Well I barely ever post on this board and I don't know who that poster is but I wasn't talking about his Bulls comment. I was referring to him saying that people get way too excited about summer league box scores, which is absolutely true. I'll let Marshon Brooks play in the NBA before I decide if he's a baller or not. To me he seems more like a chucker but I would be thrilled if he turned out to be a good pro. From what I have seen of him he seems more like a guy that doesn't give the rock back once he gets it and needs it in his hands to be effective. That being said, he may have been that way just because he was the only good player on his team. So again, I'll let him play in the league before I get too excited about him.

MarShon spent his early college career as a defensive stopper. He is further along defensively than people think.
