Default Larry Brown interested in joining Celtics coaching staff as assistant coach

Quote:
Hall of Fame coach Larry Brown has an interest in joining Doc Rivers’ Boston Celtics staff as an assistant coach, assuming Lawrence Frank accepts the Detroit Pistons’ head coaching job, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Despite Brown’s credentials and good relationship with Rivers, the Celtics coach is inclined to promote a well-regarded young assistant on his staff – Mike Longabardi – sources said. Nevertheless, Rivers hasn’t ruled out the idea of further discussing a spot for Brown on his bench next season.

don't let that Larry on your team.

he will undermine his superior to weasel himself in position of power then totally screw the team over

his mentality no longer works in today's NBA

It'd work if today's superstars weren't a bunch of crying egomaniac prima donnas.

True.

The Bobcats had the potential to be a good fit for him, but they've been handcuffed in Free Agency and didnt have any trade assets to add good veterans.

Larry is just the defensive mind we need on the bench. He can take Bradley under his wing and teach him a thingertwo.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the thread title. Larry Brown reminds me of a guy that will befriend you, hang out at your house, mow your lawn, help you fix up stuff around your house....and if you are dating or married....waxx your girlfriend/wife while you are gone. Larry Brown

Larry brown doesn't develop rookies, he burries them deep in the bench, celtics defense might be on the 2008 status though. I would like this so we can go against them again

Yea but Larry wouldn't be controlling rotations to bury anyone on the bench. I think what you mean to say is LB is unable to instruct younger players.
