A player is supposed to do what is best for the team and Haynesworth refused to do that, so how can you blame that on the coaches?

Doesn't surprise me. Disgruntled Pro Bowlers with attitude problems. I don't expect him to have Randy Moss impact, though.

True. But what a lot of fans seems to be forgetting is that a coach is supposed to do whats best for the team to, and last year Shanahan clearly didn't do that. He came in to the lockerroom and without first earning the players respect started being an asshole toward them.

Any body in management who treated his employees the way Shanahan treated McNabb and Haynesworth last year would be looking for a new job by now, but since this is the world of sports he was commended for it.

He might have screwed up on McNabb, but not Haynesworth. Shanny wasn't happy with Haynesworth skipping offseason camps and not being in shape. Shanny gets more leeway in how he acts because he has 2 SB wins. It doesn't make it right, but it's just how it is.

you're right about Shanahan coming in regulating, but Haynesworth tried to dictate what/when he'd play.

Patriots HC Bill Belichick said on Saturday that DT Albert Haynesworth is "not ready to practice yet."

Here we go again? Belichick was coy when asked if Haynesworth had failed his conditioning test, but it's the most likely reason he's not yet on the field. However, unlike last summer when Haynesworth and Mike Shanahan engaged in one of the more childish standoffs the league has ever seen, it's highly unlikely Haynesworth will be held out for long.

I wish I still worked for the stadium. I would've known about both these trades before they happened.

Considering the NE Pats play a scheme that Painsworth b!tched and complained about? Yeah monster chip on his shoulder. I mean the chip is because of the Skins right? They are at fault because they asked him to be a team player and adjust to the defensive scheme change. He refused. Yet he'll accept it in NE just to stick it to the Skins, even tho he stole atleast $34mil from them having done JACK SH!T there since he got that mega millions contract.

Somehow Painsworth will have a terrific work ethic.
Somehow Painsworth will hit the film room and study the game.
Somehow Painsworth will go hard every play he is in.
Somehow Painsworth will accept the role in the 3-4.

All because he dawns a Pats uniform. Make no mistake they really dont lose anything aquiring him. But my argument is fans think Painsworth is worth a damn. Guy is 30yrs old and stuck in his ways. Same questions people had about him coming out of college still exist today.

If Painsworth has a chip on his shoulder? It should be towards himself for not playing up to his ability and being a major let down since getting paid. And how he underachieved most of his career in Tennesee.

Pats have taken chances on a plethora of questionable players and almost all of them worked out in the end. There's no reason to think otherwise this time around.

I just listed the reasons. But hey, like I said he dawns a NE Pats jersey and everything about him is erased. Hilarious.

Nothing is erased. Who is saying that but you? I'm one of three active NE fans on this entire board and forum and as far as I can remember, none of us said that.

What we ARE saying is that player like him come to NE and change. We offer a winning formula. If you buy in, expect to contend for a championship, if not, expect to be shipped out or ride the bench. He has a chance to play on a good team, compete and make a difference, but we don't NEED him to win. If he understands that, he'll do fine. Low risk, high reward with Haynesworth.

Stop acting like NE doesn't deal with disgruntled high profile players with a swift back hand. Logan Mankins? Adalius Thomas? Randy Moss? Haynesworth is low risk, very high reward. If he doesn't perform, we'll get rid of him without bashing an eyelash, if he does, NE are geniuses yet again.

You're repeating what I said already tho.

I mentioned NE doesnt lose anything with aquiring him. He gives them some production? Good. He doesnt, and acts like Painsworth which is more likely than him being a good student? NE can say peace. Didnt give up much to get him, and honestly he isnt a big need. With Wilfork and Warren, you dont need some superstud badass on that line.

So what are you saying that you agree with my post? Ok.

I merely spoke about Painsworth and fans who think he will return to the guy who beasted (played for a contract) in Tennesee. If that guy comes close to that for NE I'll eat crow and paypal every diehard, regular NE Pats fan here $25.

NE is already set/established for the most part. Teams like them love adding low risk, high reward guys. I dont knock it, I just dont think Fat Albert will give NE what some fans think he will.
