Seems like South Carolina has had several "shot themselves in the foot" type moments, too, though. But I didn't get to start watching the game until about mid-way through the 2nd quarter.

Extremely stupid decision on Richt's part. Why in the hell center it on 2nd down instead of 3rd down? You just lost a yard or two to center the ball on 2nd down and gave your kicker a 43 yard attempt instead of trying to get more yards and make it an easier kick.

Still trying to figure out why MSU didn't go for two and the win. Guess the fact that they haven't won a bowl game under this regime plays into it...and maybe why I'm not a college football coach.

Then they throw it on consecutive downs, 2nd & 3rd and 3, needing a TD to win. Still doesn't make any sense.

More bowl games on New Years Day (Jan 2nd this year) please. Absolute sham that the Cotton Bowl isn't today, along with another BCS bowl that needs to be today. ABC is completely empty with programming tonight.

Bit them in regulation, too. They stopped attacking on defense on that final MSU drive, went prevent, and MSU had no trouble moving the ball down the field to tie it up.

UGA deserved to lose after that. Michigan State salvaged what was on the verge of being another horrible New Year's Bowl Day for the Big 10. Not only did they get shutout in their SEC match-ups last year on New Year's Day, they got blown out in most of them. South Carolina and Florida got the job done but UGA is looking like they are going to choke this one away.

Eh well. UGA was only about the 4th or 5th best SEC team this year and Michigan State was the best or 2nd best best Big 10 team. I thought going into it, this was a toss-up game.

I said the exact same thing before MSU even took the field for that eventual game tying drive in the 4th. I just assumed they'd go for two and the win if they scored a TD. But, like you said, that's why I'm not a college football coach.

And three running at the same time this morning.

Prison sentences are meant to run concurrently, not bowl games.

This Oregon - Wisconsin game is going to look like Tecmo.

It'd be nice if Oregon's defense would make its way to Pasadena sometime soon.

I hope DeAnthony Thomas doesn't fumble. He's had some crucial mistakes in the Ducks' biggest games this year.
