Didn't watch it. Apparently I didn't miss much. Not surprised in the least.

I said the same thing to my bro as we sat and watched the game. Hell, if it had just been a Big Ten team on the losing end of a 21-0 thrashing in the National Championship, we would never hear the end of it... Let alone if it were two Big Ten schools in the NC game.

The SEC craze really needs to subside a bit. When the media tries to shove a narrative down our throats, people tend to revolt. I think just about everyone outside of the south is sick and tired of the SEC bias. It is a great conference that produces great programs every year... We know this. But, holy hell... That was an awful game and an awful decision by the BCS.

I don't know how good he is either. All I know is that he's the top rated pro style QB entering in. And the reason I'm curious is because I too wonder about that type of player coming in, you never know how they'll adjust.

Read this question from Bobby Hebert. I know his history, but I don't give a shit. Guys like THAT are getting press passes while legitimate basement dwelling in their underwear writing bloggers that write more knowledgeable and enriching things than 95% of national writers could dream of get shunned.

Turns out its not interesting at all as Alabama ran away with the AP title as well.

1. Alabama (55 first place votes)
2. LSU (1)
3. OK State (4)
4. Oregon
5. Arkansas
6. USC
7. Stanford
8. Boise St.
9. South Carolina
10. Wisconsin

A "down" year for the SEC still sees them finish with three top five teams and four top 10.

LOL Seriously? One of them actually managed to score a TD??? AWESOME!

The two "best" teams in the country play 8 quarters and score one garbage time TD between them.

Those still buying the dominant defense/conference nonsense are the suckers the BCSPN is counting on.

What a joke.

OK State would have given either of them a memorable game...you know, one where people crossed the goal line.

Hell even Boise.. I would have loved to watch the heavy underdogs who play in the "inferior" conference give Alabama/LSU a showdown.

It's just so simple, but it doesn't line the pockets of the people who have wrested away control of the system.

I think there are 12 conferences that play FBS football (including the independents as a "conference").

Each conference champ goes to the playoffs.

Put names into a hat, blind draw for seeding, all games at neutral sites. Like the sites of current bowl games that nobody buys tickets for now because they don't mean anything. Nobody gets to play within x number of miles of campus.

No wildcards. No opinions. A true champion. Split the money up between every FBS school.

Hell, FCS does it with more teams, much smaller budget and much higher graduation rates.

Hey, maybe people are starting to figure it out. Slowly buy surely. It took a while for WWE ratings to drop as well.

http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2...lowest_tv.html

It turns out most television viewers didn't want to see Alabama-LSU again, at least not an uncompetitive rematch.

Overnight ratings for Alabama's 21-0 victory over LSU were the lowest for a national championship in the 14-year history of the BCS. The All-SEC affair, the first championship pairing teams from the same conference, drew a 13.8 overnight rating on ESPN. The previous record low was a 14.3 for Miami-Nebraska at the 2002 Rose Bowl.

To put last night's rating in perspective, Alabama-LSU on Nov. 5 drew an 11.5 on CBS. Last night's game was down 14 percent from Auburn's three-point victory over Oregon last year. It was down 24 percent from Alabama's last national championship when the Crimson Tide defeated Texas in 2010.

Alabama-LSU capped a disappointing ratings year for the BCS on ESPN. Even before Monday night, the BCS' 7.3 average rating was down 10 percent from the 2010 season and 21 percent from 2009, when the games aired on Fox.

The Rose, Orange, Sugar and BCS Championship all took ratings hits this season. West Virginia's 70-33 rout of Clemson at the Orange Bowl drew just a 4.5 rating, making it the lowest-rated game in BCS history.

Sort of tough for the other conferences to put up a fight when the 'best' out of conference team Alabama faced was Penn State. The game is currently rigged for the SEC.

Don't get me wrong.... It is a great conference. But, what happened this season was an abomination.

Alabama fans here are going on about their "14" ncs... when they really have only 9.

How would a 12 team playoff work? Some teams would HAVE to get a bye.

Overall, I am definitely in agreement with the fact that college football needs some sort of playoff. The thing that makes it hard is that the big conferences have all the power. For instance, if I was the commissioner of the Big 10, I would suggest something along the lines of having a playoff only within the big six conferences as a means of keeping the little guys out of a share of the money.

And as far as the money goes, to an extent I see the big boys' point of view, why should they have complete equal revenue sharing when a school like Alabama or Texas would generate a significantly larger portion of the TV revenue even in the playoff format. In all honesty, how much fanfare would a Toledo vs. Louisiana Tech playoff match garner? Absolutely nothing.

I think a more realistic way of looking at it that would keep most people somewhat happy would be a playoffs with the champions getting a spot if they have a minimum winning rate and another few teams getting a wildcard. Or perhaps, even playoff games for a wildcard spot.

The 9 are AP championships. They should actually have 10 or 11 AP championships, but had a couple of undefeated seasons discounted because they had yet to integrate. The 14 number is legit, and actually a decrease from the number they claimed when I was a youngster. The number is closer to 20 for Championships that can be claimed by Alabama.

I think as a whole, outside of LSU and Alabama, it was a really down year for college football in general. Arkansas is probably a legit top 5 team this year (no worse than top 8) and was absolutely manhandled and dominated by both teams.
