Rice had a 20-14 lead with 11:20 to go in the 2nd quarter. Houston made it a 52-20 game with 8:20 to go in the third quarter. So, in a little over 16 minutes of game time (or a little more than one quarter) it went from a 20-14 game in Rice's favor, to a Houston lead of 59-20.

By just looking at the box-score it appears Rice attempted to play keep-away from Houston. Rice's QBs combined for just 19 passes, but they ran 43 times, and had two backs go for more than 300 yards rushing combined.

But what I'm saying is that if Houston wins out, and finishes in the top 12 of the BCS (they'd be undefeated) then they have to get a BCS Bowl bid due to a rule. It doesn't matter if they're as well recognized as TCU and Boise.

It does matter. Only 1 non-AQ team is automatically qualified to a BCS Game. I'm not sure how much different it would be if somehow Boise was able to make it to the National Title Game, but Houston would have to be an at large unless the Boise State loses or is in the National Title Game, and I don't see Houston getting an at large bid if you ask me.

Incorrect. To protect their own interests, the BCSPN gives that guarantee to only one non-AQ each season. A second non-AQ may qualify through the at large process, but there are no guarantees. They can be pushed aside for anyone.

In other words, non-AQ teams could be undefeated and #1 & 2 in the nation, but only one is guaranteed the chance to play in any of the BCSPN bowl games.

Rex Burkhead with another nice game in Nebraska's win over Michigan State.....157 combined yards and 3 TDs..... He's only a junior so Nebraska should start a Heisman campaign for him next year...

Hadn't seen K-State this year. They're legit. Bill Snyder's a god, not enough people mention him in the "great coach" talks.
