Eagles OL did a good job vs Dallas the first matchup. This should be a good time to duplicate that success. Overall OL has been solid. Room for improvement but considering Kelce/Watkins are rookies? Cant be too critical/tough. I'd still like to see another quality OL player added. Either at RT to move Herremans inside or at LG where Mathis has been servicable but if you could land an upgrade there? Do it.

Eagles too jeckle and hyde for me to say they'll make playoffs. I counted them out and really am cautious still. We'll see how this plays out. I'd love Babin to get 20 sacks.

We've put Matthews back out on the field too. He'll always struggle against the run because of his size, but in the nickel he's been very good in pass coverage. At least he's showing he has a role somewhere.

Here's this week's man-up about our interior O-linemen, since we already know the tackles take care of business:

Quote:
Evan Mathis - He was pretty good too. Mathis did a good job on the defensive end on McCoy’s 11-yard run, and he threw defensive end Ropati Pitoitua to the ground on McCoy’s 3-yard run in the second. Mathis blocked Sione Pouha on McCoy’s 12-yard run in the second. He had some trouble picking up Westerman, as Vick was forced to run for 9 yards in the second. And Mathis was called for an unnecessary roughness penalty for hitting Harris late in the fourth.

Jason Kelce - Ups and downs for Kelce, but overall, the line seemed to be ready for pretty much everything the Jets threw their way, so he deserves credit for that. Great job on Pouha on McCoy’s 6-yard run in the first. Kelce had an excellent block on Harris on McCoy’s 12-yard run in the second. And he held his own in pass protection on Vick’s 73-yard completion to Celek. The downs? Kelce had trouble with Pouha on McCoy’s 3-yard run in the second, and he got beat by him in pass protection, as Vick was forced to scramble in the second. Kelce and Mathis let a blitzer go unblocked between them in the third; Vick got hit as he released a 12-yard completion to Jackson. And Kelce got beat by Pouha in the fourth. Vick initially escaped pressure, but then took a hit as he threw the ball away.

Danny Watkins - Watkins held up well in pass protection. I didn't notice any breakdowns, which is a good sign. He held his own on the 38-yard completion to Celek and did a good job on Pitoitua on McCoy’s second TD run in the third.

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie - I thought he played very well after coming in to play left cornerback for Samuel. Before that, Rodgers-Cromartie didn't play at all. It was exclusively Hanson on the field in nickel, as far as I could tell. Rodgers-Cromartie made a great break on the ball, helping to tip it up in the air before Chaney came down with the interception in the third. By my count, he was targeted twice, and neither pass was completed.

If you read the whole thing it seems like Jamar Chaney and Asante are the only ones who didn't play a great game. Probably the best the D has played all season.

After some early season trouble, Henery's made 13 straight FG's. That's 21/24 on the year and one of those misses was the 1 where he kicked it from 60+ and barely reached the end zone.

I wanted to do a quick check on how much Trent Cole is influencing Babin's sack totals. Cole missed back to back games in the beginning of the season, Babin recorded 0 sacks in them.

His strong performances against Stephen McGee, Matt Moore, and Mark Sanchez shouldn't be enough to earn another year.

Why does DRC play so soft? That last possession when Dallas caught the ball he didnt even attempt to tackle the guy. He it was lil push. Hit him, hit him out of bounds something. I hate when he at times is so non chalant when it comes to tackling.

Biggest reason they couldn't wait to show him the door in AZ.

If Eagles plan to get rid of Samuel I hope the thinking is we have DRC. He'll step in and we're fine. I'm not comfortable with him at CB. I know his strength is on the outside and he played slot quite a bit this season. But he doesnt look like this Pro Bowler to me. Plus that tackling I cant ignore. Atleast Asante can be seen trying. This guy will and has this season let a WR catch the ball and he'll jog next to him.

Eagles gotta strike gold with this 2nd rd pick from Zona.

Quote:
Casey Matthews - He’s put together back-to-back good games. Matthews blitzed up the middle in the second and got pressure on McGee. He made a good tackle on Morris, stopping him after a 6-yard completion on 3rd-and-25. Matthews tackled Morris after a 5-yard gain on a draw in the fourth. Good coverage on Witten on a fourth-quarter incompletion. He stuck with Witten again and tackled him after a 1-yard completion in the fourth. The mishaps? He slipped in coverage, allowing Bennett to get open for an 11-yard completion in the second. And he missed a tackle on Witten late in the fourth. Based on the past two games, it looks like he can be effective in a specialized role.

Quote:
Nnamdi Asomugha - Strong game for Asomugha, who is still being used in a variety of ways. He spent part of the afternoon on Witten and shut him down. Asomugha had good coverage on Witten on the play where Romo got injured. He tripped up Bennett after a gain of 3 on a tight end screen in the first. He tackled Witten after a 6-yard gain on 3rd-and-15. Great coverage on Bryant on a second-quarter incompletion near the sidelines. Good coverage on Witten when the Eagles were in dime in the second. Asomugha tackled Morris in run support after a 3-yard gain. Good tackle on Bryant after a 5-yard completion in the fourth. He was beat by Bryant for a 9-yard gain on 4th-and-5 in the fourth. Asomugha lined up as a safety in the second, but whiffed on his tackle after McGee flipped the ball to Morris for a short gain. Overall, he played very well though.

Quote:
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie - Pretty good game for Rodgers-Cromartie too, filling in for Asante Samuel at left cornerback. He tackled Jones after a 6-yard run in the first. Good coverage, good play to break up a pass for Bryant in the end zone in the second (the Cowboys were called for a holding penalty on the play). It looked like he got beat by Laurent Robinson on a deep ball in the third, but McGee made a bad throw. He lost Austin when McGee escaped the pocket and found the wide receiver for a 19-yard gain in the second. But that’s one of those plays where the Cowboys deserve credit for making something happen.

Quote:
Nate Allen - This had to be one of his best games of the year, which is a good sign looking ahead to 2012. Allen made a nice read and a nice hit on Jones to force an incompletion in the first. Good read, good hit on Morris, dropping him for no gain after a dumpoff by McGee in the second. He made a good hit on Austin on a third-down incompletion in the third. And Allen did a good job of helping Hanson on a third-down incompletion in the fourth. Allen did a good job in coverage on Witten in the end zone late in the fourth. And he broke up a pass intended for Bryant in the third. Very active throughout the game.

http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/...#ixzz1hfjh0xbp

They mention Nate Allen's game as being the best of the season, it was easily the best of his career. When has Allen ever laid hits like he did on Saturday? That hit on Sammy Morris? Wow. Allen's been one of my biggest beefs on the team but he showed his talent. If he played every game like that he's a pro bowler.
