Rodman possessed the greatest timing of any player to ever lace them up.

Rodman's 1991-92 season put him in the HOF by itself.

There was a note in the NY Post that Phil Jackson is there to induct Tex Winter. And Rodman asked him after he found out that Phil was already going to be there. I suspect that Rodman doesn't have too many friends among his ex-teamates.

Anyone know if he's sober these days? I saw one episode of him on celebrity rehab and it was pretty messed up.

The 6'0 guy crashes the boards, always boxes his man out on defensive rebounds, uses timing and hustle to get 5 rebounds even though he rarely camps inside the paint. The 6'0 man is a better rebounder to me, but every team still needs a 6'9 guy. Rodman to me was a combination of the best of both of these two type of players. He intimidated with his defense, but his timing, IQ, strength, and feel for getting rebounds was un-paralled. Russell, Chamberlain... all have cases for best rebounding against Rodman but to me Rodman will always be the best. He wasn't getting his rebounding numbers against inferior competition, he was boxing out and grabbing his boards against some of the best bigs in the history of the game... in an era that is arguably the best era of big men in the history of the game.

Rodman
Solid post.

Rodman was truly one of a kind, on and off the court.

He was a special role player.

I mean, you'd need to combine two solid role player's stats to match his rebounding numbers these days.

He definitely wasn't at Jordan's. I remember Jordan making a joke about it I think. And I'm pretty sure he wasn't at Pippen's either. They definitely didn't show him at all.

I read something yesterday anyway that Rodman only picked him as a presenter once he found out he was already going to be there specifically for Tex Winter. So it really isn't that Phil's being there for Rodman and he wasn't there for Jordan and Pippen.

Anyway, kind of off topic, but did anyone see the HOF press conference? Seeing Tex Winter up there was really sad. He suffered a stroke a few years ago, and now he can't really speak that well. Its unfortunate they took this long to induct him in. The guy is almost 90 years old. Its pretty ridiculous that high school coaches and commentators have gotten in before this guy recently.
