As far as bowe is concerned im kind of on the fence about him. He'll lead his team in targets which is a huge plus but he is a guy that struggles against good defenses. His tds were a fluke but 10 tds are definitelt not out of the question.

I'm not a big believer in Julio. I've seen most his games in college; he never scared me. He's an amazing physical talent but I don't know if he has the ball skills to ever become great. Time will tell though.

With that said, I have Julio just having a mediocre year, no boom or bust. He's not going to get the targets to post big numbers and well, hes on Atlanta. Primary rushing team and Ryan has a tendency to lock onto White. I know they've said they're going to air it out as well but I'll believe it when I see it. I think for a WR3 he's alright but I don't think he comes close to 1000 yards. I say 700 yards or so and 6 TDs. Its very rare to have rookie wideouts come right in and light it up. Plus with no OTAs and mini camps. He has a lot going against him.

Also, I'm not going to say that schedule is completely meaningless, but I think it is overrated in the NFL. It is difficult to forecast which teams will be the strongest and which teams will be the weakest from season to season.

Going into last season, most people would have said that Bowe would feast on a team like Cleveland and struggle with an improved Houston squad.

He ended up with 4 catches for 45 yards against the Browns and 108 yards and two TDs against the Texans.

Yes, for receivers, schedules do matter... But, not every 'good defense' is going to hold top notch receivers in check... The teams with lockdown corners, yes. But, not every good defense.

Pittsburgh can be very susceptible to teams with a top flight receiver (see what TO did to them last year as an example). Same with Chicago and Green Bay... Good defenses, but they don't have a Revis that is going to shut down Dwayne Bowe.

Bottom line: I don't think anyone is expecting him to replicate what he did last year in 2011. However, he doesn't need to in order to be a solid fourth round draft pick.

Good post, I think we both made some good points. Contrary to what I said, I think that is Steve Breaston can step up, Bowe could easily top 8-11 tds and like 1200 yards.

I'm pretty sure he isn't going to be third on the depth chart once the season starts (if he even is right now after how he performed against NO)... And definitely not by midway through the season. He is just flat-out better than Derrick Ward (who is also pretty good). If Tate stays healthy, they will probably end up having to trade him, because he is too good to be a backup to a superstar.

He and Montario Hardesty are in very similar positions...

Both were drafted to the franchise RB in the second round. Both sustained injuries and had players step in that are now league stars.

Both have incredible upside but have to prove they can stay healthy.

If the Texans' last game is any indicator, the franchise has a very nice problem on their hands.

well for starters respected veterans like roddy white and tony g say hes the best rookie theyve ever seen. Atlanta mortgaged their future to drafthim 6 overall. You best believe they plan to air it out more every report out of atlanta suggests this. Ryan has never had a good qb opposite of roddy hence why he locks on to him so much. If dallas is capable of having two top tier wrs then atlanta definitely is. Also if the preseason is any indication he's going to be the second or at the very least third option in a higly potent offense.

True. Time will tell. I hope for your sake he booms although I remain skeptical.

You also best believe that I'm going to be rooting HARD against them. We have their first round pick next year.

Great move, in retrospect. We moved down and got a guy that has looked great thus far (Phil Taylor) and got a No. 1 pick out of it.

Holmgren/Heckert.

Oh... And we ended up getting Greg Little, who COULD end up being better than Julio. It wouldn't be completely crazy.

I think ryan will emerge as a lower tier qb1 and has a great chance to throw 30 tds (10 of those to julio!)...

I think julios floor is 50 catches, 700 yards, 5 tds but has a ton of upside (75 catches, 11 tds, 1k yards).

Really regretting my winslow pick though.

You have a really nice backup. He will be your starter a couple games into the season.

14 team standard league, just drafted:

QB - Josh Freeman
RB1 - Adrian Peterson
RB2 - Knowshon Moreno
WR1 - Miles Austin
WR2 - Vincent Jackson
WR3 - Santonio Holmes
R/W - Jacoby Ford
TE - Owen Daniels
DEF - New England
K - Billy Cundiff

Those are the starters anyways. My biggest regret was probably not making it a priority to draft a solid backup QB. I have confidence in Josh Freeman to be solid, but he's obviously young and has only done it once.

I have a flaw in that I refuse to take NFC East guys other than Dallas...

I know it is a horrible disadvantage, but I refuse to let fantasy football interupt the game for me...no way do I want to put myself in possition to actually root for someone like Vick or DeSean...f*ck that

I have too much respect for myself as a fan of the game...lol

the Cowboys winning is 100x more important to me than FF...so I put that first

I might end up reaching on TE this year...

there are only 5 that put are big number getters...after that the drop off is pretty big

That's a great PPR team, standard definitely well above average. Picking Vjax and Austin back to back is sick...assuming you had pick 1 or 2? Also not totally sold that Moreno can stay healthy but I'm a big Holmes believer, he's one of the better values in the draft. I think you'll be flexing someone else by years end but theres plenty of time to tweak that. Freeman is dependable and by far the most consistent high end QB2.

I am really curious to see how TB can replicate or build on last years success.

I'd give your draft an A-

Matthew Berry said yesterday that if you draft Mike Vick in the first round then you win your league. He is higher than a kite on Vick. We saw it last year Marlo, when you added Vick off the waivers your team became the best team in our league at that very moment.

Vick
DeSean
Maclin
Shady
Nicks
Bradshaw
....Beck

that's a lot of talent you're leaving on the table. I've got no problem with adding guys on teams I hate. They've shitted on the Eagles in the past with us still winning so it's no biggie.
