If you dont already know, the three i's represent Heart, Honor, Respect He talks of self enlightenment through reflection and active work. It constantly touches on racial subjects, figures and conspiracy theories of today and the past. I think everybody heard this one already tho'
This is my shit right here. Its about a 17 year old hoe named Keisha who has been going through some serious shit for being a big time prostitution. This whole song was really for Kendrick's 11 year old sister hopping he wont ever become one. On some real shit, this song is on some "Brenda's Got A Baby" shit which was also mentioned
She play Mr. Shakur
That's her favorite rapper
Bumping "Brenda's Got A Baby"
While a pervert yelling at her
this whole song got mad bars son!
She start running like FLo-Jo
Don't care if they Joe Blow
If they got money to blow a blow job is a sure go
And sure enough don't see a dime of dirty dollars
She give all to her daddy but she don't know her father
Ignorance Is Bliss
Nothing really matters, so she hit the back seat
Rosa Parks never a factor when she making ends meet
Really, stupidity can kill homie!
Weird.. K.Dot is from compton and doesnt smoke!
H.O.C. stands for High Off Contact. Kendrick Lamar is talking about his experiences as a non-smoker and how although his music may sound like something a pot head might make he’s far from that
this is my favorite track of 2011 so far which also includes 25th Hour by Rek.
A.D.H.D. stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Like he mentioned on H.O.C., he doesnt smoke or do drugs like that but people around him do which includes the chick he was trying to fu
ck in verse 2. She explains at the end that they are all crack babies because they are all born in the 80's... that makes me one too huh?!
I love this right HERE JOE! it gotta Tribe Called Quest feel to it. The song is self-explanatory; K.Dot was telling a story about a dude asking his girl why she treats him like a king while the girl was asking him why does he treats her like shit.
He goes in deep on this. He brings up the fact that black people only focus on shit that doesnt matter and never look at whats really important. He brings up the fact that black were onces slaves and never had opportunities what he have right now but we arent taking full advantage of them by focusing on jewelry and stuff that are irrelevant.
Kush & Corinthians
My man got some knowlege son! this track about the struggle between moral/just actions and the temptations of earthly vices. It is important to not that Paul’s letters to the Corinthians have a lot to do with social justice and morality. In the second letter to the Corinthians, Paul is struggling with accusations made against him by others in the early christian church. You can probably start to see the parallels between his letters and this song
He's expression his feeling.
That’s what she said to me, the place I used to call home is just a bed to me
We don’t even sleep, neighbors can hear her weep
Meanwhile I’m in these streets with everybody, I’m trying to get it
And she know they got me, I watch her feelings watch me
As they stare me with the saddest eyes of loneliness
Look each other in the face and barely blink
Tried to make it right but the pen ran out of ink
So if my letters don’t reach you, I hope these lyrics in sync
