Team USA:
Dominique Wilkins - born in France
Kyrie Irving - born in Australia
Patrick Ewing - born in Jamaica
Hakeem Olajuwon - born in Nigeria
Rony Seikaly - born in Lebanon
Steve Kerr - born in Lebanon
Carlos Boozer - born in Germany
Tim Duncan - born in Virgin Islands.
Supposedly this makes Duncan pure American according to Team USA, yet his country had their own national team and he played on it before he switched to Team USA. Never mind that the Virgin Islands, while a US territory, has its own sovereign country. Officially listed by the NBA as an international player. So yes, Tim Duncan was also born in a foreign country.
Otherwise, US territory Puerto Rico would not be allowed to have its own national team.
Maybe one day another country will catch Team USA in the number of foreign born players used.........but it is doubtful.
