Rasho only played 18 mpg last year at 4.5ppg and 3.9 rpg so in theory double his minutes and you have a solid 10 and 10 center something hard to come by these days

Wow, Colangelo is really starting to pull some wicked **** off. I can't wait to see our lineup at the end of the off-season.

I will miss matt bonner though, it may not be as bad asJYD but it still hurts me inside.

Rasho Nesterovic is definately a decent piece at the center position for us, he is a big body that we have lacked in the middle. However, he has a downright awful contract, so I'm still not too crazy about the deal. We'll have to see what happens with the draft now, this opened us to take anything Colangelo wants now, he made space at SF/PF and gave us a respectable center, so the pick or possible trade could lead us anywhere. It certainly will make things more interesting.

What is with this love affair with Bonner? What did he contribute to the team last year other than streaky shooting and bad D?

Rasho has never been the 35-40 minute center. Suprisingly, has also never had a near 10/10 season. Has the experience... but I too am not in favor of Rasho's high contract.

Always sad to see a fan fave' leave.

I Rather have Nazr mohammed......now if the raps can pick up Marcus Banks..Jay Williams and draft Aldridge, Denham Brown and Bobby Jones the team would be set

C-Aldridge/Rasho/Whaley
PF-Bosh/Humphries
SF-CharlieV/Joey Graham/Bobby Jones
SG-Mo Pete/Denham/Bobby Jones
PG-Banks/Williams or other way around/Jose

I'd be really disappointed if this were the roster that BC built. Williams? Banks?! This roster is far too short on experience AND skill, it would not make the raptors a playoff team.

The new Raptors will not look at all like this team.

In escence he used some of our future cap form losing those two but he plugged a majopr hole instead. We gave up a stiff that didn't play and a fan favorite hustler a 2009 pick from the arron Williams deal. We were only gonna have like 7 mill in contracts next year this just pushes it up. Any other centre would have costed us at least 10 mil plus in the open market (ie. Pryz, Mohammed, or Nene)...

What we should have done:

Brevin Knight, Primo brezec and 3

For Alvin, Eric And the 1

Thumbs up

This is a good deal all the way.

Bonnerís personality will be missed, but his play on the court wonít be.

The Raps fortunately shed some dead wood also in E. Williams. Now if only we can find a taker for the other Williams.

BC has basically taken two expendable players and turned it into the rebounding, shot-blocking center the club desperately needed. All the while, he preserved cap flexibility, didnít give up the #1 pick for some silly trade like a Magloire, and got back a reasonable contract. Pryz, Mohammed or Nene probably would have wanted more than the 3 years, 23 mil owed to Nesterovic. His veteran, playoff-tested presence is also beneficial to a young team.

The Raps werenít looking for an all-star player, they wanted a role player to help CB4. They have all the firepower they need in the front line--- with CB4 and Charlie V. All Nesterovic has to do is defend and rebound.

I can't wait to see BC's next move.
