This is a good deal all the way.
Bonner’s personality will be missed, but his play on the court won’t be.
The Raps fortunately shed some dead wood also in E. Williams. Now if only we can find a taker for the other Williams.
BC has basically taken two expendable players and turned it into the rebounding, shot-blocking center the club desperately needed. All the while, he preserved cap flexibility, didn’t give up the #1 pick for some silly trade like a Magloire, and got back a reasonable contract. Pryz, Mohammed or Nene probably would have wanted more than the 3 years, 23 mil owed to Nesterovic. His veteran, playoff-tested presence is also beneficial to a young team.
The Raps weren’t looking for an all-star player, they wanted a role player to help CB4. They have all the firepower they need in the front line--- with CB4 and Charlie V. All Nesterovic has to do is defend and rebound.
I can't wait to see BC's next move.
