Default Patty Mills Signs in Australia

http://www.nbl.com.au/news/article/2...patty-mills-1/

Patty Mills playing back In Australia. Not sure how this works but apparently BA helped out the Tigers with being able to afford him. They have also announced that they are not activating a player so they can get under the 70 point cap.

Heres the statement about the cap issue. Still trying to find how this works under the salary cap.

‎"To answer how the Tigers fitted Mills under the points and salary cap, they have chosen not to activate Darryl Corletto, thereby removing his 6 points from the points cap. This left them at 60 points so adding Mills brought them to the 70 point limit. The Tigers have also renegotiated other existing player contracts (as has been done by numerous other teams in recent years) to free up salary cap space to allow them to sign Mills."

Here's to hoping Mills gets some experience and confidence before heading back to the NBA a better player, should dominate in the NBL.

This is awesome although this isn't the first time that the Tigers have signed a star player that would clearly put them over the cap. Regardless this is great news for Australian basketball and I can't wait until he comes to Perth and goes head to head against Damian Martin.
