While I definitely feel that given the absolutely dominating performance that he had over the first five games of the '80 Finals that Kareem should have been awarded the MVP, I think that what really sold Magic to the voters was not that he simply had a great game 6 in te absence of Kareem. Magic's game 6 was as good or better (at least statistically) as any game Kareem had during that Finals.
