Those fouls are called for any other player on the floor. The funniest call in the Germany Serbia game was the offensive foul on Dirk in the first half, when the Serbian player grabbed Nowitzki and he threw his arm off.
Dirk has been disrespected by the refs for his entire FIBA career basically, though it's been worse before. No one in Europe can guard Dirk Nowitzki, which is why teams have to play overly hard defense in him. Moving bumps off the ball, grabbing his shirt, holding him back with arms. All illegal plays, "even" in FIBA. Major props to Dirk for never flopping though.

Those are not fouls in FIBA unless you have Team USA or Spain on your chest, or you are playing at home.

No teams (except USA, Spain, the home team) ever get those types of calls in FIBA.

You are clearly used to the NBA where Dirk is just paraded to free throw line for no reason.

And you are clearly talking out of your as$ again, lad. I remember you claiming that Dirk's Euro MVP is being considered a fluke over here in Europe... you, out of all people, judging the European basketball fans. The same Dirk who got MVP chants and standing ovations by the opposing fans in a losing effort when he was subbed out.

1) He gets hacked all the time
2) France has been historically ****ed by the refs in every tournament since they've had NBA players (although this time around it's much better)
3) France has to be the team that complains the LEAST in the whole tournament.

Joakim Noah, on yesterday's game (source: http://www.lequipe.fr/Basket/breves2...h-ou-kidd.html )

"There are many players that I hadn't heard of....well it really is a beautiful thing to watch.
This point guard yesterday...Petrovic...is that his name, Petrovic? (the journalist corrects: no, it's Teodosic) Teodovic? (the journalist: Teodosic). Well, this point guard, he's a top player la Jason kidd or Steve Nash, a little slower maybe, but his passes, his vision, that's something I respect. I didn't know this player, he's a great player.
The plays they run, too, that's something you don't see often, even in the NBA you don't see such plays being run. That's a beauty to watch. Now that we've won the game I can say it, it is beautiful -during the game it was a pain in the ass (laughs). There are many players I didn't know and they really are the best players in the world."

Wait did no one really brief him on Teodosic before playing Serbia?

Lol at confusing last name Petrovic with Teodosic. But it's nice to see him giving respect...

That explains his performances against the Heat. He probably had never heard of LeBron, Wade and Bosh.

If you're in the US, you can watch replays of every single in HQ on ESPN3

Are you kidding me? He is an NBA player that came through the US system. He actually believed this bull shit from USA that he was playing against high school level players. At least he had the balls to admit they are at least NBA level equals once he actually played against them.
