I think Fitzpatrick having gone to Harvard and drafted in the 7th round has had more to do with him being underrated, than him playing in Buffalo.

Has Aaron Rodgers playing in Green Bay done anything to stop him from being ranked as a top 10 QB?

You mean... Green Bay... on of the biggest football cities in the country? One of the most storied franchises?

Why would that hinder anyone?

It wouldn't. Just like playing in Buffalo wouldn't hinder anyone either. Market size does not matter. Talent always shows itself and rises to the top. It's not like Dave Brown was being touted as a top 10 quarterback when he was playing for the Giants in the mid 90s.

It has nothing to do with market size city wise but football city wise.

So GB is actually a huge football market.

There's a big difference between playing in Buffalo and playing in GB.

No there's not. This league has parity, remember? You can ascend to the top no matter what city you play for.

So you think playing QB for the Green Bay Packers is equal to playing QB for Buffalo?

I am saying it doesn't matter where you play. Carolina doesn't have any prime time games this year, but I am pretty sure they will have some next year with the way Cam Newton is playing.

I'm just saying, if they were a bad team in New York City, Philadelphia, or big football markets, then you would actually hear more about them even if they were bead. Simply just being bad is the main reason, but being in Buffalo doesn't help either.

How much did you hear about Dave Brown when he was QB for the Giants?

Yes and if you have storied football markets... like say GB, who aren't necessarily huge money wise but storied franchises, you will also hear more about them.

So are you telling me Aaron Rodgers is overrated because he plays for GB?

I'm sorry I don't see how that at all is what I said.

He sure as hell would get more attention though given the hypothetical that both teams are equally good.

He will get attention if he puts up good numbers and the team is successful this year. Look at his career numbers.

http://www.pro-football-reference.co...F/FitzRy00.htm

Last year was the first time he threw for 3k yards, and he has seasons when he didn't even play. The fact that he plays for Buffalo has nothing to do with how he is ranked.

How can you tell me a guy who has 1 season of 3k yards is in the top 10?

No no no my friend. He'd be getting the same attention if he were bad too. It would just be bad attention. They would be saying why is Rodgers struggling, when will they replace him, etc.

And I don't think Fitz is a top-10. I just think he's vastly underrated as a QB and written off for some reason even though he's been successful thus far in that offense. I think he has potential.

EDIT: My bad I read you post wrong so that first part won't make any sense.

Last year he finished 22nd in QB rating, 21st in passing yards, and 14th in touchdowns, but somehow Buffalo is holding him back from being a top 10 QB. Oh yeah, he is in his 7th year and played for Harvard and drafted in the 7th round.

Enough with the "woe is me" small market complaints.
