Well those were bonehead moments for a usually smart player. I dont even know what he was doing in the game down the stretch, I guess Brooks went with the pg that was on the court for their only previous win. But hes a solid backup and you cant really blame him.
Several factors figure into why the Thunder lost. One is the fact that Dirk and the Mavs simply showed up in the clutch. But I also just looked at some Thunder playoff stats that should be cause for concern in the future if not remedied. We've all heard about Westbrook, as a pg, shooting too much, but I didn't realize that it was like this.
Field goal attempts-
In 84 fewer minutes (4.9 mpg) the team's point guard took only 2 fewer shots than his teammate who is the league's leading scorer. I don't think that it's healthy basketball for the long run when a pg who should be facilitating and creating for others is taking so many shots relative to the player on his team who happens to be the league's leading scorer.

Young team with little playoff experience compared to the Mavs. Same thing with the Bulls. I thought Rose at the very end of game 4 in regulation should've taken the ball to the hoop against LeBron and initiate contact. Put pressure on the ref to make a call in the MVP's favor, or maybe dish to an open big man when the double comes as he gets to the rim.
Shooting an off-balance fadeaway over a guy who has 6 inches over you when you're shooting around 20-30% for the game wasn't the wisest move.
