That's my line of thinking as well. Peyton will be 36 next year, how many years does he have left? Favre played into his 40's and I could see Peyton playing till his late 30's since he doesn't have a history with many injuries but the end is definately near for Peyton imo.

Am I the only one not drinking the Andrew Luck kool aid? I just haven't seen the brilliance in him like Cam Newton.

I don't get why Kellen Moore is so underrated, guy is so accurate, good arm strength, and never makes mistakes, maybe it's lesser competition, but I don't get what he doesn't have that Luck does. The guy made Titus Young and Austin Pettis into 2nd and 3rd round picks.

That is the only thing holding him back that I can think of, but that isn't a problem in the NFL for quite a few QBs in the NFL. I'm no buying the fact that teams should tank their season for the guy. Kellen has stepped up against really good teams when they've played them.

moore is only 6'0. The only good NFL qb with that kind of size is Brees.

and vick is also 6'0 but he is a totally different type of qb than Moore.

They would be idiots to even think about trading the pick if they are lucky enough to get it. Franchise QBs like that don't grow on trees and Manning has 3 or 4 more seasons in him tops.

If this happens, draft Luck, let him learn behind Peyton for two seasons, then hand it over to Luck.

I know a lot, but thanks for the comment.

I think Moore will be a good NFL player, despite what people are saying, people can call me an idiot I don't give a shit.

Luck is good no doubt, and maybe it's because Stanford has been under the radar, but I haven't seen him perform enough with the game on the line like other QBs have, but maybe it's because he's good.

I think they would have to trade the pick. Luck should play right away, and I'm sure he expects to. If he were to have to sit for 3-4 years (don't forget the 5 yr deal Peyton just signed) I think it could turn into a headache situation with Luck being pissed off and not happy.

Regardless, I doubt the Colts will end up with the First pick.

I would say luck has probably had to perform with the game on the line more often than Moore. 95% of Moore career games were spent rolling over joke teams like san diego state. The guy only plays in like 1 or 2 serious games every year.

Actually? I might consider trading the pick. Thats if I am certain Manning injury wont be something that I will deal with on an offseason to offseason basis. I dont know what the deal is with his injury. I havent read up on it, maybe I should. But I'll let someone who is in the know school me on his future health.

But why not trade Andrew Luck? If Manning is good to go? You ride it out with him for another 3 solid season. Thats enough football for me that it would be worth the trade because I think teams will bend over and spread them for Andrew Luck. Plus with the rookie wage scale? Teams wont be less thrilled to trade up because of the high price tag rookies once carried. The salaries are pretty much set. And Andrew Luck has been the hyped up, talked about QB in a league where there are teams looking for that fresh franchise QB face.

The Colts could have Manning return and we saw his impact when he was gone. The offense can be back to what it was. But now you list and rank the top needs for the Colts. I dont know the needs offhand but I'm sure one has to be OL. Then you got some defensive needs as well. Andruw Luck can bring you some quality talent in 2012 and 2013 NFL drafts via trade.

Its hard to guess what they could get given the draft is different. I think Colts could get more than the Atlanta-SD swap yeeeeeeears ago. Hopefully Indy has some good scouts who could make good on the draft picks they aquire for Luck. But I wouldnt rule it out if I know Manning will be healthy and this neck injury is behind us.

If its not? Obviously you keep Luck and do the whole Favre-Rodgers thing.

Weather people agree or disagree with the method, the way NFL teams draft QB's rarely has anything to do with their college teams success, and sometimes even their own success (see Jake Locker). They draft based on Size, Arm strength, the offense they played in, and their potential etc, etc. Moore is short, doesn't have Luck's arm strength and doesn't run the type of offense Luck has pretty much mastered at Stanford.
