Default Old Xbox 360, HDMI to HDTV?

Maybe I just haven't found the answer but once and for all someone answer me.

Is there any better way to get 1080p picture to my new HDTV than the cable I already have? (shown in the picture)

My Xbox 360 doesn't have the HDMI port so two questions:

1. Is that cable my best option for best quality picture or is there a way to get better picture to my HDTV when my Xbox doesn't have the port for HDMI cable?
2. If there is a way to get better picture than this one, what do I need?

Thanks!

Use the VGA cable.

You need a special box to convert the standard definition signal to a high definition one. It's not cheap, and you usually can only find them online, but it's your best bet.

If that's a component cable you should still be able to use 1080p if your tv allows native resolution through component input.

Yes my HDTV supports also this cable that I already have and I know that it supports 1080. I just thought that when it actually isn't HDMI cable, that would there be a way to get even better picture with different cable than the component one.

Any thoughts about the VGA cable? As "chains" mentioned that one

If I'm not mistaken there's nothing wrong with component video and it is the least processed of the signals.

HDMI is just brought on by industry to fight pirating. Be thankful if your TV will accept 1080p via a component connection.

Is there an optical/spdif output on an X-Box or PS3 or is digital audio only through HDMI?

#1. Your HDTV has to be able to produce a full 1080p image in order to get 1080p...some Tv's only do 720P or 1080i....check your TV manual or look on the front of the TV....it should tell you if it is 1080p capable.

#2. You need a HDMI output and cable to recieve a 1080p signal...If your xbox does not have a digital output (HDMI) you will have a 720P or 1080i signal instead.

those cables in your pic are "RGB" component....those do not produce a 1080p signal....sorry.

maybe you can upgrade soon?

goodluck.

Component cable's do not produce a 1080p image...he will need a digital input with a HDMI or DVI cable.

If you have an Xbox VGA cable and Your TV has a VGA input then use it...the picture will be better...I dont think the VGA will produce a true 1080p image though..

again...the component cable's will do 720P and 1080i....but not 1080p.

This is not hwat he needs.....he already has a High Def TV....the XBOX 360 already produces a HD signal....he is trying to get a 1080p image, from his older version 360 wich does not support HDMI

That is incorrect. Component can display 1080p and beyond; devices don't implement it because of piracy concerns.

Component cables RGB that are attached through a 1080p source (from what I read) could produce a 1080p signal at only 60mz........but I don't think the xbox 360 puts out a 1080p through the component output...( I might be wrong but I checked and couldn't find anything right away) so I think I won't matter either way..

most 1080p formatted video uses HDMI (like you said earlier , for copyright purposes....the can encrypt the source and secure it bieng copied much easier through the Digital HDMI vs analog RGB.)

but for a better picture and True 1080p 120mz + image a digital cable is best...and I think the Xbox will only do that through the HDMI port.
