Default Denard Robinson at the pro level?

What do you do with him as a pro to get him on the field? Make him a running back? A receiver? See if he can be a kick/punt returner? Wildcat guy like Brad Smith? His athletic ability translates to the next level with ease but as what? What part of the draft would you risk taking a college QB with his athletic skills that will need a position change?

4.32 40 time. You HAVE to get this guy on the field somehow.

6th or 7th round pick at most, use him as a Brad Smith type player, who can be a back-up if needed. Not a big fan of him.

This.

Use him like the Jets used to use Brad Smith, only give him a few more snaps per game. The guy is electric. KR/PR and get some packages where he can run the option.

I don't want him. He kind of reminds me of a non-midget version of Brandon Banks.

5th-7th rounder, use as a Returner and throw him in the wildcat every so often to run/throw. I'd easily take him in a late round.

Not enough info yet, teams will have to see his pro day and workouts before they guess what can be done with him. But one thing that needs to be abandoned is "Wildcat QBs." When you send a guy out there that everyone knows only runs the football so that he can run "trick" plays that fool no one it just stalls the offense and hurts the rhythm of your real quarterback. The Wildcat is only going to succeed consistently in college and high school where team have overwhelming athletic advantages and all they need to do to move the football is give a good athlete a little blocking. NFL defenders are generally too good for this kind of play to work. Wildcat had a brief boom a few years ago after Miami used it to surprise the Patriots for a win. But with the novelty gone there's no surprise to it so it's not going to work. So either decide that Robinson can be taught quarterbacking at the NFL level and put in the time to make him one or turn him into an RB, WR, or just kick returner. But don't waste everyone's time with the Wildcrap offense.

Good post. The Wildcat is dead and won't resurface for anything more than a gimmick.

Robinson is more Randle El than Brad Smith. Smith is considerably bigger and has a superior arm. NFL defenses aren't going to be afraid of Robinson throwing the ball.

Always a challenge to find ways to keep little guys on the field, but his speed is intriguing.

So is he basically a poor man's Pat White?(How did he get selected in the 2nd)

He's obviously not going to be a QB and like other people mentioned be a gimmick player. Returner, slot receiver, wildcat specialist, etc..

I'd pick him in the 5th depending on the situation. I can see the jets selecting him to try to replace Brad Smith.

I agree though the Wildcat is going to be dead here soon, I've noticed it's starting to phase out already. I think it's effective though when you have Brad Smith or someone like him part of it.

zero chance he makes it as a QB.

the way he throws the ball makes Tebow passes look like prime Peyton Manning

maybe he can play as a WR or KR as some have mentioned.

Coming out of high school, Michigan initially recruited him as a defensive back. Scout.com even ranked him the 16th best CB in the nation. Be a cool story if he made that switch. With his speed and height (6'1") it may be worth the try if you take him in a later round.

this. the guy barely throws above 50% in the college level. i was critical of jake locker in the nfl. locker is a better prototypical nfl qb than robinson.

I would pick him as a WR or Option QB in a later round of the draft. (6th or 7th round). He's not a guy who will be relied upon heavily at the pro level.

Watching the Iowa game, and he's definitely no QB. Wow are some of these misses bad.
