This thread is becoming a joke i'm not sure why Sarcastic is asking "if Rivers elite" when I have not seen anyone put him on that level. The consensus has Rivers as a 2nd tier QB and most of us can agree with that but he also has an elite skill level and can become elite if he can put it together eventually. However, for people to be mentioning the like of Romo, Newton, and Eli in comparison is a joke.

Rivers is in a lot closer class to Eli, Vick, Romo, and Matt Ryan than he is Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Big Ben, Peyton, Aaron Rodgers. If he has such an elite skill level, why hasn't he done it in the playoffs yet? That's just what I'm not understanding. When is "eventually" at 30? I haven't seen the clutch gene either in Rivers that I do in Brees, Brady, Big Ben, and I'm not sure about Rodgers yet because they were so good throughout the playoff run and this season, that he hasn't needed to really come from behind much.

I disagree with some of this, Rivers is closer to elite than he is to Ryan and Romo but probably in the same tier as Vick and Eli; however, I think Rivers is better than both. The problem with Rivers currently is that his footwork isn't very good right now when he usually has some of the best footwork in the league. I'm not sure if it is due to injury or whether he has some issues trusting his offensive line.
