IMO they matter every time for a QB...I don't think Eli would be on the Giants right now had he not won a ring...

each one should be taken into context though...like 2000 Ravens who just had a QB barely good enough to get by

You're contradicting yourself though. First you say

Is Roger Staubach a great QB? His career QB rating is 83.4. His record in the Super Bowl is 2-2.

but yeah if we're discussing good QB's, that ring shit doesn't matter since there have been some pitifully awful ones with riings

Damn dude.....did Trent Dilfer sleep with your wife or something? Yeah, maybe the Ravens should have stuck with Tony Banks that year....after he lead the Ravens in four straight games without an offensive TD. All Dilfer did was come in a go 7-1 down the stretch. In the SuperBowl he threw for 153 yards and a TD to start the game off, with no picks. I ain't saying he was Tom Brady.....but he earned his SuperBowl ring....

it isn't contradicting it all...I'm saying that having a super bowl ring doesn't mean you are a great QB but the fact that bradshaw HAS FOUR RINGS is more than enough to keep him off that top-10 list

come on man...lol

like I said earlier (and you said also) that was a different era....QB rating have consistanly gone up over time, the fact that Montana and Young have ratings that are still great today is amazing...

I'm just repeating myself now...

Staubach's rating was great for his time...

He has 4 SB rings because he played with a great defense even yourself acknowledged. So now like typical primetime he says "I said having a RING (singular) but when it comes to RINGS (plural) its different".

You should quit your current job and be a politician.

okay do you really think he is one of the 10 worst QBs to win a ring(s) or are you just arguing cause you are a complete tool?

If you really think that he and his FOUR rings should be on that list I'll continue to debate you...if not then you just agree with me and need to STFU

What's better Tom Brady from 2001-2004 when he put up average stats and won 3 Super Bowls, or Tom Brady from 2005-present when he has put up monster stats but hasn't won a Super Bowl?

Anyone who thinks Eli is one of the 10 worst QBs to win a ring is a complete tool.

You sound like Herman Cain when they asked him about abortion.

"Herman Cain, are you pro-life or pro-choice"
"I am pro-life. Life starts at conception"
"What if a woman is raped and wants an abortion?"
"Well that's her choice"

Eli Manning is a top 10 QB in this league. Nothing more, nothing less.

He does seem to have quite the large number of haters but when it comes down to it, he played fantastic the entire playoffs of the Super Bowl run. Give the defense all the credit that you won, but you can't win without good offense. He showed up big when it mattered.
No, I'm not saying he is an elite, top-tier QB, but he is a damn good one.

I think the fact that he plays in NY and his whole draft day shenanigans have to do with the haters. You can't deny he is talented as f*ck

I'd take him over a lot of QBs people love - Ryan, Bradford, Vick, Stafford, Romo, Schaub.

Rodgers, Brady, Manning and Brees are better, yes, but I'd put Eli right there with Rivers and Roethlisberger.
