Apparently the Lakers are getting Al Harrington by means of a sign and trade. The deal will have Cook, Mihm, and McKie go to Atlanta for Al Harrington.

I wouldn't make it so declarative. It's a strong rumor with lots of legs. Until it is reported or Harrington and the Lakers come to some sort of financial agreement, I will wait and hope that this deal does happen.

This sounds like a great deal. Cook plays no defense...Mckie will retire in a bit...the only guy good enough is Chris Mihm and im gonna miss him as a laker

This is a good deal if it happens....
Mihm has definitely played well while here as a Laker, but the Lakers feel Bynum is their future, and I am sure upper management gave Phillip direction to play him this year. Mihm is the odd man out.
I will give Kupchak kudos if he is really the one making all this activity happen.
Was mitch the one who reeled in Malone and Payton?
or was that Jerry west?
That was Mitch, but I won't criticize him on it. They only got paid a million each and the Lakers had very little flexibility. It almost worked and if Malone didn't get hurt, who knows what would've happened.
Payton and the Lakers were a bad combination from the beginning. We should've stuck with Fisher at that point.

The key word I used in that was Apparently...
Yes it is a great deal for the Lakers. If this happens they will be a Solid Unit in the Western Conference.

either way though he still reeled in some hall of famers and they got far...too bad it ended horribly which made mitch's stock decrease so dramatically.
He traded Payton and we almost had Marcus Banks along with a good 3 pt shooting chucky atkins and a solid chris mihm.
Too bad that stubborn Punk Payton decided to not respect us and failed to show up for a physical which made us lose marcus Banks.
If u look at it....all of those guys were 10 pt scorers and would have averaged together well over 30 while payton is getting rusted.
Mitch did a good job with intention...but some punks decided to mess it up for us.
I honestly see no mistake in the man. He is doing great

Shaq and Payton did a lot of damage to Mitch's reputation by screwing the franchise over. Shaq's overweight, lazy self making insane salary demands, then his trade demand and Payton's stupid stubbornness, and he ended up in Boston. Mitch can't be blamed for that. I would've held onto Jumaine Jones though. He's a good bench player.

Notice...when payton was traded to atlanta last year from boston, he didnt get mad?
