Default Bills, Fitzpatrick agree to extension

Bills just inked Ryan Fitzpatrick to a 6 year extension.

The deal is - 6yrs/59 million with 24 million guaranteed.

I like the deal, happy to see Fitz signed long term, also happy to see the Bills break out the check book for once.

More than a half season, he was good last season too.

Now that he's secured financially, it's time for his greatness to shine.

Kevin Kolb made this possible.

He was good last season as well. There's no doubt in my mind he will continue to perform at a high level.

Time to lock up Fred Jackson and Stevie as well.

Also, it's not even a ridiculous deal at all. I'm sorry, but people should watch him last year as well. He played very well and is a very smart and consistent QB. 24 millions guaranteed is a perfectly good deal.

@GOBB, it's better than the Kolb deal. For one, it's less, for two, then didn't give up a pro bowl CB and a 2nd rounder + the contract for Fitz, and for three, Fitz is better and played well throughout last season, something Kolb did not.

Kolb was going to get that kind of extension whether it was in a trade or not.

6yr $65mil $21.5mil guranteed for Kolb
6yr $59mil $24mil guranteed for Fitz

Without having done much reading on Fitz deal. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Kevin Kolb deal was a measuring for what Fitz extension should be. The deals look identical in my book. I dont know the exact details year to year for each. Eventually someone will have it. But just doin the eye ball test? Seems similar. The only difference is Fitz is more deserving of his extension than Kolb. Now others may argue its too much for both etc etc. I dont want to get into all of that. Just the fact Fitz has shown/done more than Kolb. And yet Kolb was rewarded before playing 1 snap in Zona.

The trade pieces involved with Kolb is irrelevant when it comes to the $$$$.

Isn't Fred like 30? I sure hope dude gets his, he has earned it, thoroughly.

Stevie is getting paid chump change too.

Good for the bills, they finally have someone to rely on at the QB Situation. Better hope that Fitzpatrick lives up to that contract though.

I see what you're saying, nvm. I'd say too much for Kolb, good value for Fitz.

That's cool. He's reliable and pretty damn good.

The question will become how do they build around him.
