I don't see why not. He's one of the most complete sf's in tihe league. Rebounds, plays defense, and has developed into a scorer. And makes some highlight worthy big plays sometimes. Definately deserves some All-Star consideration.
If he keeps up this play through the end of January, he deserves some serious consideration. Not to mention if the Mavs still have the best record by then, only one All-Star just doesn't seem right. But playing forward in the west is tough. Manu and Parker may get away with those numbers playing guard. But those numbers playing forward might leave you on the outside looking in.
Ya, the guy has been a complete beast and led the team when Dirk hasnt been there. He averages double digit points and 5 rpg. He plays great defense and howard + dirk in the all star game would be great to see
he does deserve it but theres just too many better SFs in the West...remember they still have Marion, T-Mac, Melo, Lewis (might be the same calibre as Howard), Odom...theres just wayyyyy too many better forwards in the west to consider Howard ....
Tmac is on the ballot as a guard this year. Odom and Lewis are hurt. Carmelo is suspended. Marion is the only viable one out of those you mentioned. Though it will be interesting to see how the coaches vote on Carmelo considering his suspension.
josh howard is an AWESOME all around player and even though he is all star caliber, ill tel you why he wont make it. its the western confrence, and the forwards are stacked. to understand how competitive it is, rashard lewis (even though he is injured) isnt even top 10 in forward voting. if he was considered a guard he might have actually made it. tis a shame he has to fight votes with dirk, duncan, carmelo and kg.
I cannot see brokeback mcgrady lasting till all star break, he'll be out with spasms sooner rather than later. Melo, will he still be suspended?
Who else? Lamar Odom? Will he be back fit and healthy by then? Not sure?
JH has been a monster this season, quickly becoming our second best player. That is why the jet's PPG has gone down whilst his assists have gone up. Dirk doesnt have to jack up as many shots either, not to mention JH has now got a 3 point shot.
Though at the end of the day, glory hunters like anthony and brokeback will get in because of reputation.
He definitely should go...as of now, I see Dirk, Josh and Boozer as the reserve forwards...sorry Melo, that suspension rules him out...as for Marion, Stoudemire has taken the shine he had from last season away from him...so that leaves just Josh...
YES. he deserves to be on the all star team. His play has been great this year. He won Player of the Week honors twice. Has led the team in scoring Several times.
but with the West being so stacked with Forwards, I highly doubt he'll ever make it, because as has been stated tons of times, the All Star Game is more of a popularity contest, and Josh isn't as well known as the other Forwards in the West.
also doesn't help with the SF/PF all being grouped together. so he's gotta beat out Duncan, Brand, Garnett, Nowitzki, Boozer, as well as SF Melo, Marion, etc.
