Well a player of KJ Jones' caliber is not in the hall of fame except for KC himself. Most of the other HOFers are at the very worst great players.

So my argument that Wilt played with some of the most stacked teams of all time still stands

Quote:
Has any player ever been on so many stacked teams like Wilt Chamberlain?
Wilt Chamberlain played with 9 teammates that are in the Hall of Fame during his 14 year career.

Wilt's HOF teammates:

1959-60: Paul Arizin, Tom Gola
1960-61: Paul Arizin, Tom Gola
1961-62: Paul Arizin, Tom Gola
1962-63: Tom Gola
1963-64: Nate Thurmond
1964-65: Nate Thurmond, Hal Greer, Chet Walker
1965-66: Hal Greer, Billy Cunningham, Chet Walker
1966-67: Hal Greer, Billy Cunningham, Chet Walker
1967-68: Hal Greer, Billy Cunningham, Chet Walker
1968-69: Jerry West, Elgin Baylor
1969-70: Jerry West, Elgin Baylor
1970-71: Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Gail Goodrich
1971-72: Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Gail Goodrich
1972-73: Jerry West, Gail Goodrich

Wilt's teammates that were All-Stars but NOT HOFers:

1961-62: Tom Mescherry
1962-63: Guy Rodgers
1963-64: Guy Rodgers
1964-65: Luke Jackson

14/14 seasons he had at least 1 HOF teammate
12/14 seasons he had at least 2 HOF teammates
6/14 seasons he had 3 HOF teammates

^That also proves my point. Some of those players were leaving their primes or weren't in it anymore.

I think Wilt, for the most part, was always the best player on his team, so I give him the benefit of the doubt. There are other players who played with more stacked teams than Wilt.

Bill Russell is the only player I can think of that played on more stacked teams.

Bill Russell, Kobe Bryant, Larry Bird, and Magic Johnson all played on more consistently stacked teams in my opinion.

Duncan's also been very fortunate with his supporting cast over the years.

Wilt's career somewhat mimics Jordan's in my opinion. Both guys were drafted to bottom feeding teams, spent the first 5 or so years on god awful to mediocre teams, and then spent the last 6-8 years on great to all time great teams.

What???
Wilt played with Paul Arizin, Tom Gola, Nate Thurmond, Hal Greer, Chet Walker, Billy Cunningham, Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, and Gail Goodrich. And also 3 extra all-star teammates Tom Mescherry, Guy Rodgers, and Luke Jackson.

9 teammates made the Hall of Fame had played with Wilt
11 teammates made an All-star team while playing with Wilt
3 teammates made an All-NBA team while playing with Wilt

A lot of that had to do with there being so few teams in the league though. Wilt's team's were definitely stacked from about 65' on, but from the time he was drafted up until then, that wasn't the case.

Guys like Russell, Kobe, Bird, Magic, and even Duncan spent either all or all but 2 or 3 years with title worthy supporting casts.

I believe baylor sat out and was at the very end of his career during the 70-72 seasons.

But yes I generally agree that Wilt had his chances and wilted (lol no pun intended) under the pressure.
