I can list probably dozens more, but for now, this will suffice well enough for the thread.
Milicic = role player in Adriatic League
= 2nd pick of NBA/NBA starter
Skita = role player in ACB
= 5th pick of NBA
Rubio = scrub in Euroleague
= 5th pick of NBA/projected starter for Wolves in NBA
Jerebko = role player in Italian League
= draft pick of NBA/starter in NBA
Casspi = role player in Euroleague
= first round pick of NBA/starter in NBA
Vesely = role player in Euroleague
= 6th pick of NBA/projected starter for Wizards in NBA
Jennings = scrub in Euroleague
= lotto pick in NBA/NBA starter/55 points in one game scorer in NBA
Keep in mind, that MANY more examples will be brought up as this thread goes on. So, how is it that these role players/scrubs in Europe become first round NBA picks, even some of them lotto picks, and can become starters in the NBA?
Discuss.

Re: European League Scrubs/Role Players That Started In NBA And/Or Are Lotto Picks
A few mistakes. For one, Jerebko was the 39th pick. In the NBA, 39th isn't lottery.
Secondly, why is Casspi considered an NBA starter when he starts less than 40% of his games?
Also, why is he called role player in Europe (when he started no?) and starter in NBA (when he's still considered a role player no?). I mean, if you can't start even 40% of games for a terrible lottery team, are you not a "role player"?

The NBA is a great place for European scrubs to earn a living, even for some to become lotto picks and starters.
Darko is a huge scrub and has been since he joined the NBA.
Niko... barely made a roster and was out of the league in a year or two.
Ricky hasn't played in an NBA game.
Jerebko has finally started to get it... but then he got injured.
Omri seems to be developing well, but I wouldn't call him a good NBA player yet.
Jan hasn't played an NBA game.
Brandon Jennings is a middling NBA point guard.
