Deron and Dwight is a tasty combo, although like the Knicks, you're awfully thin once you get past that.
I think Deron and Dwight would play off of each other better than Amare and Melo do. Dwight's never played with a point guard anywhere near as good as D-Will and Howard is a huge upgrade over any big that Deron's played with. They've got guys like Morrow and Brooks to spread the floor and a decent backup point guard in Farmar. Brooks could turn into a Jamal Crawford type of bench player. They'll need a solid wing player like Stephen Jackson/healthy Michael Redd to be successful. No team with Travis Outlaw or Damion James as their primary wing threat is going to do damage in the playoffs.
Re: Nets to offer Brook Lopez and two 1st rounders for Dwight Howard
the best offer is lopez and 2 late first rounder?
nets have to make that better, try and acquire another player of decent value and add him to the trade cus there isnt much on that roster id want if im orlando.

The problem with Deng for Melo is it replaces a player with a much weaker player at the same position making almost the same money, making the team similar but worse. And Lopez doesn't rebound or defend even 1/10% of Howard, so that is pretty bad. (And i know his salary is lower but they'll need to extend him, and Lopez will want max to stay. WHy wouldn't he? How could Orlando let him go after trading Howard for him?)
I very much like this analysis...it presents a big problem, though, for the Magic. There is no big (even Bynum, even Griffin) who won't present the same "Deng for Melo" problem. So now you are trading a big for a small, unless that small is CP3, Wade or LBJ, the team is getting worse...much worse.

But Nets offer gets rid of Turkoglu. So with Howard and Turk gone, and Arenas anmestied, that opens up lots of possibilities for future........Let's also remember Lopez's good buddy Ryan Anderson is on Magic.
Lakers offer also takes Turk off their hands. And your last sentence, i hope you are joking.
I think the problem with the Nets offer is the fact Lopez needs to be re-upped at such a large salary going forward that it really hurts, it makes Lopez the centerpiece of a new Magic team. I wouldn't want that. He's a center who plays average to below average defense and rebounds below average. And he'd cost almost the same amount.
If i'm the Magic i only get a center if it's Bynum because he has potential to be a centerpiece type center. Otherwise i want a team built around more wings, completely different.

Bucher said Melo was 100% going to accept the Nets and therefore NY had NO chance of getting him. Said it like 100 times. Then the Knicks were ten minutes from getting him and he reported that he thought the Knicks had a chance!
