So is Pau a HOF'er? He still has a lot of basketball to play, but at the rate he's going at, I'd say he is a HOF'er, although not a first ballot one.

Yes, when his NBA Career is finished he will be a HOFamer.

As it stands now if you combine his NoN NBA Accomplishments with what he has done in the League he definitely is in.

How many FMVP's (2010) aren't in the HOF?

He has been a Top 2-5 PF for many years now.

He still has plenty of time to show what he has. He doesn't have as many indivdual accomplishments right now, but I do see him on more All-NBA teams and All-Star teams in the upcoming years. If he helps his teams win a few more titles and plays at a high level, that will definitely help his case.

I think he will get into the HOF when his career is over though.

Many respected journalists have said he deserved the Award and there is a huge % of NBA Fan's who felt he got robbed of the Award that year.

They gave it to Kobe because he is one of the leagues poster boys and its much better for the league in regards to revenue and advertising purposes if they give it to Kobe.

Gasol is some Spanish guy who the league never really acknowledges and doesnt have 1/100th the Fan Base Kobe or most of the top Tier stars have.

I remember when Kobe was trying to give Credit to Gasol in his FMVP speech and the ESPN guy was like "enough with that bitch Gasol tell us about your 15 rebounds DURRR"

Pau Gasol IS already worthy of Hall of Famer recognition.

Some people fail to grasp the idea that we're talking about the BASKETBALL Hall of Fame, not the NBA Hall of Fame.

International AND NBA accomplishments count.

And Gasol is one of the most accomplished players in basketball history EVER (yes, I know, that's redundant). He's won almost everything there is to win, from junior World Championships to Senior World Championship and MVP, a couple of NBA titles, Eurobaskets, an Olympic medal, Spanish titles and whatnot.

If Gasol is not worthy, then neither are half the guys already in the Hall of Fame.

Yeah, he's definitely in. NBA and European accolades will get him in.

for one thing, its journalists who voted kobe the finals mvp in the first place, so citing journalists as people who think kobe was the fmvp, well thats pointless because more journalists, the ones the nba entrusts, disagree. also, there is a huge number of fans who dislike kobe, for a variety of reasons, many of those person (translation: kobe is a douche), so citing fans as people who think okbe shouldnt have won adds little to your argument.

also, stern has been very upfront about his intentions to promote the game abroad. nos conspiring to take th award away form a european star, and stopping him becoming another european superstar, which would help the game abroad, as he has stated on numerous occasions, isnt something stern would do.

finally, its pretty clear that you have it out for kobe, i heard you're a big shaq guy, so that explains that.

Award or not he still had a great Finals performance especially in the 4 Wins (where he was by far the best player, "stats below")

So obviously his performance in that series will help his HOF Consideration with or without that Phony Stern given Award.

Lets look at how both Gasol and Kobe performed in the 4 Laker Wins (2010 Finalz)

Kobe
26.5 PPG

Gasol
19 PPG
14 RPG (6 Offensive Rebounds Per Game)

Yup. First ballot hall of famer, especially if he finishes career strong. Another ring or finals appearance with more good, consistent stats and he's a lock without a doubt.

I have nothing against Kobe (although I love mocking Kobe Troll/Stans)

I truly feel Gasol was the better player in that series and deserved the Award.

If you want to assume I made my decision based on some bias I have that's fine but its not true.

No he didn't.

He only had more PPG because he took way more shots.

Pau was the better Playmaker, Rebounder and Defensive player.
Pau was unquestionably better in 3/4 Games they Won.
Pau was better in 4/7 Games in the series.

In the Games the Lakers won Kobe played poorly and Gasol played well.

Gasol was clearly the better player in that series.

Gasol was clearly the better player in that series.

obviously you don't remember watching the series.

The series went to 7 games and the announcers and media were speculating that Kobe is the MVP of the series regardless his team won or not.

Nobody on Boston did anything and there were talks about Kobe winning the MVP even if his team lost.

The Lakers won so you like to give Pau the award but people were already crowning Kobe win or lose.
