Default My Player: NBA 2K11

I decided to make this thread specifically about the My player mode of this year's NBA 2k11 so that we can trade ideas/comments and such.

Tips:

-Box out, get back on d in transition, set picks, and contest shots (it all helps your grade)
-cut out any extra button mashing...you get penalized for it
-Complete some Jordan moments and wear the shoes to boost your ratings

I got drafted by the Grizz first round as a 6'7" PG out of DePaul (Ben Wilson)....so far so good...but it doesn't look like I will win ROY.....13 games in and I'm still rated 48 and I haven't cracked the starting lineup.

The taller you are for your position, the fewer performance points you get. A 6-7 pg basically gets shit.

He gets a small amount.

Ben Wilson is an actual hoops legend in Chicago I had to create him [RIP].

Anybody played pickup games yet? I've been waiting to get some more juice on my player before going in there.

One weird thing I noticed - you can go into skill points and subtract any points you've earned above your base rating then add them elsewhere. Pretty sure that's a bug.

My player is a 6'8 SG 3-PT specialist. I'm doing the summerleague and I think he's got 86 3PT rating and maybe a 45 overall rating? Anyways, it's hard as hell to score. I pretty much camp out at the 3 point line when I'm not setting screens or hitting the boards. It's easy to get a high team rating but I can't force a turnover on my guy to save my life. Did get drafted by the Magic so I should get some decent looks with Howard in the paint kicking it out to me

Is it just me, or in the draft combine, is Greg Monroe always the most dominant player there by far?

I haven't played the 2k11 Mode but in 2k10 I'd have my length at 6'7 as well (point guard) and just grabbed 15 rebounds a game and blocked 2-3 shots. This way I had better stats and I got near the amount of skill points I would get as a 6'2-6'3 PG.

Just finished the combine, about to head to the draft. Exciting times!

Predicted to be picked 23rd by the Timberwolves in Round 1. We'll see what happens though!

I predict that you'll take your talent to *fill in preferred team name* by using the trade demand option.

Nah not for now, I ended up getting passed up by them, and picked by the Hawks one pick later. Should be able to beat out Bibby and Teague in reasonable time!

Damn, I just got injured again. This time a severe ankle sprain that I couldn't play through. Missed 4 full weeks of games.

Playing on the same team as Bogut must make you injury prone.

6'4 PG here. Did 10 min quarters, averaged 19/9/12 with 2 steals & 1.5 blocks a game. Main thing that kept my draft position down was my turnovers, as I kept ****ing up fast breaks by forgetting to icon lead pass.

I was predicted to go at 16 to Timberwolves in the mocks, but dropped to OKC at 18. I was aiming for Grizzlies at 12 (which is where I was predicted to land after one game) but my turnovers over the next couple games saw my position drop. Hopefully I'll be able to get some minutes backing up Westbrook!

Second game back, Deron ran me over and sent me down for another 4 weeks. So much for awards this season, my guy is glass at 80 DU.

Anybody else having injury issues?
